Hi guys,

went for a walk and found these mushrooms,






habitat: Britain, on a lawn close to a holly bush, winter

cap: white/brown hemispherical 2-3 inches

stem: white with purple sturdy 1/2-1 inch

gills: white

spores: in progress....

no bruising

It looks Cortinarius to me. I'm not sure of the particular species, but the print will be a rusty brown color if so.

If the spore print's an orangish pink color, it could be Lepista.

See what the print shows first.

My guess is Tricholoma.

It looks a little like a Russula.

havent got a decent camera so a picture wont be much use, the print is white/pinkish, im 95% sure its a field blewit, my book's descriptions match but im a noob :P

It's prolly in the Lepista genus then. They like to fruit around evergreens as well. If it were Tricholoma or Russula, the print would be nearly white in color.

no its fiberous and quite strong breaking roughly, its also fibrillose
