Do these look dry to you?
    #7809995 - 12/29/07 09:03 AM (16 years, 1 month ago)

This is my first grow and a little nervous dont want to ruin them. Do the stems on these look dry? I have 99% RH. Everything is goin well. I have a good constant FAE using a tropic humidifier. Just would like some peoples opinions.

i have had a few go like that, not sure if its moisture related, if you suspect yoru cake drying out, sit it in a saucer of water overnight.

You did dunk your cake for 24 hours before putting into the fruiting chamber.

You were a bit messy with your hole drilling

Thats a good idea, i never thought of though, i have no drill, and used a sharve knife to manually drill threw. Ill do that when i make my next fruiting chamber (current one is a mess and is not big enough)

Nice way of labeling your cakes, using CD's i was thinking why are they sitting on plates and tinfoil.

They should be fine, is your Hygrometer calibrated??

I used a soldering iron to make holes in my fruiting chambers. Works great. Just watch out for those fumes....

i have two seperate meters in my chamber 1 up top and one down at cake level. neither was calibrate, but both give the same reading they will fluctuate with the light on or off but seem to be giving good readings.they are digital and both different kinds

everything looks fine. just mist occasionaly, dont over mist. i done it a million times!! just keep it up. everything looks fine. by tomorrow they will be big. and in 2 days. HUGE. ready to be picked

and guys. if your using a shotgun terranium. im sure you are like me. that one works great. but you can do it bigger, and less mess. i didnt like perlite. but use a pmp!! no holes to drill. well a couple. but its bigger, and i found it more automated then the shotgun. tho im willing to try it again now that i have my hand in growing..

The digi gauges might seem fine now, but over just as little as a week and they get inacurate due to voltage drop from the batterys, plus the sensor can get coated in spores and other things making them inacurate.

I have started to get some weird readings lately from mine.

And they will never be accurate anyway in the humidity ranges we work in.

Sadly a decently accurate hygrometer for our humidity ranges is stupidly expensive. Your next best option is a decent mechanical one.
