Why, if I may ask? In one of your videos you said you would add gypsum to rye grain to prevent clumping. However, this doesn't make sense imho when adding it to the BRF recipe.

Funny that an OTDr hasn't turned up yet to say that he spunks all over his cakes and that it works great...
There are loads of extras to be added but the basic mix works great as it is.

I've read that gypsum works as a nutrient that leads to larger yields, but it isn't an essential ingredient.

I assume that cake with the crazy amount of mushies is the result of that mix? Have not heard about using non fat dry milk yet... you think it makes a big difference? Also do you remember the weight of that harvest in the pic and were they 1/2 pint cakes?

Mycelium needs a supply of minerals just like us humans do, thus gypsum is perfect. Coffee adds a slight nutrient boost and also lowers the pH into the area mycelium prefers. RR

Yea, it had 60 mushies and dried to 7 grams. Certainly not the biggest, but the total yeild is the highest. Milk is slightly basic and contains, I believe, 235 minerals
