Largest mushroom
    #7808316 - 12/28/07 07:09 PM (16 years, 1 month ago)

Just a curious question, whats the largest singular shroom people have grown off a cake or a grain substraight? I have heard of 32 gram shrooms, which to me is massive! Any one top that? Pictures would be awesome too. Alternatively whats the largest wild cube you have seen? Cheers, Gen

I remember not that long ago there was a thread about a monstor shroom, and i seem to remember somewhere aroun the 130 gram mark it may have been much much bigger.

Big mushroooms are great, but an equal amount of smaller shrooms compared to a single mushroom is generaly more potent.

I remember my first grow which i got 18 grams of lots of fruits and damn they were potent, i had 2 fruits totaling 24 grams and they seemed less potent.

FARRRKK! Thems some large shrooms. 200 grams is intense, you could feed a family of four on that baby for weeks! If you were to clone one of them would your harvest be all quite large? I would be assuming so... Some one should make a novelty super sub-species for laughs. Cheers Gen

If you clone it may be possible that you would get roughly the same size, but

You will not get lots of shrooms that size, a substrate can only produce so much material so you are more likely to get a few biggys rather than lots.

For example if you got 20 10g fruits from a casing (totaling 200G) and you got 4 50G of another casing , cloning to 50G shroom is not going to produce 20 50G fruits.

Someone mentioned how much shrooms u can generaly get from a substrate, cant for the life of me remember.

And as i said before, plenty of small fruits can be more desirable than fewer large fruits as smaller fruits tend to be more potent per gram than big fruits, 1 gram of dry aborts could be more potent than 1 gram dry of a single mushroom.

the largest singular shroom people have grown...

is off compost or a bulk substrate of horse poo.

Agar and myself have had a few in the 260 to 280 grams wet range.

One of mine was 22" long with a 12" cap (Orissa India Strain of Cubensis).

A quick search for "biological efficiency" will answer that question.

I believe it weighed 500 pounds, if memory serves me correctly.

It was grown off of a substrate made of a mixture of a 1000 mystical ingredients, including eye of newt, oil of Patrick Duffy, liver of right wing Republican, and other nonsensical but useful pieces parts of human remains. The substrate was boiled in an elephant skull for 3 months, and blessed with a curse straight from the mouth of Elgamort, the elder of Enchanting Village.

The substrate weighed 15 tons, but was so dense that it fit into a basketball cut in half, one half filled with the dense mysterious substrate, the other left empty for political reasons.

It fruited a single shroom, which was eaten by seven thousand souls of serendipidous serpents, stealing several slices of sandwiched psylocybin simmering in shroomy sauce. These seven thousand souls then gained the knowledge of right and wrong, and bred conscientous human beings by knocking up cheap, liquored up whores in dark alleys, causing the population of people we now have in existence today.

Make no mistake; it was one hell of a shroom.
