last 3 christmas's(before this one) I spent in withdrawl...a slave to oxycodone so I guess I was due for a great one and this was it
I didn't expect much at all...my family is tight on $(and so am I) and I was told not to expect much(and because of how bad christmas had become for me I didn't really care) I didn't even know what to ask for until I happen to check out ign's gamecube section(I think it was for a post here actually) and noticed the twilight princess(with a great review) I had NO idea it was released for the gamecube I thought it was a WII exclusive so thats what I asked for and thats what I got
and I couldn't be happier...for the first time in a long long time I am playing game that is so fun, so well done, challenging in all the right ways while being completely accessable to new players with AMAZING graphics and a story which is shaping up to be unforgettable
and I've only just started the game ...I'm about to walk into the boss's room in the dungeon with the monkeys(for anyone whos played it)
I honestly can't remember the last time a game caught my attention so throughly that it was a challenge to stop playing instead of being a challenge to keep my ass on the couch and play
even while crashin from a lot of E last night I'm happy as fuck and having a blast
not only that but at the last minute before we had our christmas get together/dinner/gift opening with my family my dad mentioned to me that my grandparents had bought a hi def tv/monitor(19") at an auction for around $120 canadian and I told him how I would LOVE a hi def tv and won't buy an xbox360 or ps3(if it starts to pick up in the game department) without one...I refuse to play these next gen consoles at 640x480 missin out on details and just not seeing the games the way they were meant to be seen or played
so grandparents walk through the door holding the tv for ME!...they are fairly ignorant ppl...portuguese and never really embraced ppl or canadian culture when they got off the boat...they spend so much time with each other only speaking portuguese that there english is actually getting worse in their old age and they are VERY hard to talk too these days so a tv like that to them...they don't even know what a dvd player is...it was all just dumb luck and so now I got myself a hi def tv something I didn't think I would be getting for years!
and this amazing game which I know is gonna have me glued to my tv for a few days at least...I get too much fresh air...I Need some good old fashioned couch potato action! :P
even staying over at my parents was pretty fun and went well(I usually crash emotionally whenever I'm there for even a couple hours due to some things that happened about a year ago now) but I did come prepared this time(valium)
I went around saying "happy birthday jesus" apposed too "merry christmas" lol
so anyways I'm sure theres been a few threads regarding christmas and gifts and how well it went for ya but I'm gonna ask again anyways!
did you guys all get what you wanted? have fun? etc?

Funny, my last 5 xmas I was a slave to Oxy as well. This is the first sober christmas I've had in 5 years, and it was awesome! I was smoking some great chronic and drinking with the family. I got my girlfriends dad and uncle to smoke with me. I got a new skateboard, a TOM TOM, and some other random shit. I think just being of sober mind and body has made the last few months of my life awesome, and xmas was like the icing on the cake.
Cheers I'll drink one to our semi-sobriety.

Thanx! You too! Any sobriety even if its short lived is an accomplishment when it comes to Oxy.
