It could be a lot of things. It's hard to say because you have not provided the information required for identification request. Read the rules.

Furthermore, your pictures don't go a long way towards providing the missing information. Closeups would help, as well as a picture of the underside of the cap.

It's just like the story of the grasshopper and the octopus.
All year long, the grasshopper kept burying acorns for winter, while the
octopus mooched off his girlfriend and watched TV.
But then the winter came, and the grasshopper died, and the octopus ate all his acorns.
Also he got a race car.
Is any of this getting through to you?

It's going to be impossible to id with the info given.
I would guess some sort of polypore, but really, given the data it's just a wild guess.

I enjoy the extra challenge of doing ID requests with incomplete information. It adds a whole new dimension of difficulty, you really have to use all the clues available to determine the species.

Expecting new people to follow the rules is a sisyphean task, and its really uncool to be telling people to gtfo.

If someone doesn't provide enough information to make the ID, just ask for it. They will get the hint pretty soon.

If the format automatically pasted when 'identification request' was chosen more people would follow it.
