First active finds...Cyans in Sac
    #7806932 - 12/28/07 09:39 AM (16 years, 1 month ago)

First, let me start off by saying.....

HA HA HA HA - HA HA, NA- NA- NA- NA NA NA.:grin::mushroom2::grin::grin:

Psilocybe cyanescens

...In Sacramento:)

Took them at 3:45 yesterday. By 5:00 it was in full force. VERY enjoyable lvl 2 trip. Slight viusuals, and i never get visuals! Not even after 5 or 6 grams of cubes. Cyans rule. noticeable different from cubes, hit alot faster and didn't involve me on the ground laughing for 6 hours at nothing. I've never felt closer to nature. They even tasted like yummy nature! I spent an hour or two staring out in a pasture. All the different animals sounded funnier than normal. The big tufts of grass were like...breathing. The fence wires stayed imprinted in my vision even as i looked away.

After a week of no rain, how long after the first rain should i wait to go back and check my patch? Please be specific trying to learn. :smirk: Time to pin, Reach maturity. And/or best time to pick.

Congrats on the find.

The time it takes a mushroom to grown from a pin to maturity varies depending on a number of factors - primarily water availability.  Generally speaking, it takes about 4 days.

Depending on the location of your patch, you could check back daily (although it could raise suspicions).  You can always take matters into your own hands and water the patch yourself.

The temperature is dipping here in the Bay, and I assume it's the same story in sac.  I'm not sure how this will affect growth rates.

Thanks:ooo:
When you say from pin to maturity that's after seeing the pin right? So i might have to wait even longer from the time it rains then to pin then to maturity.

Well it only rained last night but i'm so impatient i'm going up there to check right now. It's about an hour drive each way so daily is probablly not gonna happen.

nicely done rhandy!!! I have never took the time to look around town. I would check back at that spot sunday/monday if we get some rain.

i am starting to think that the liquid mycelium trick sort of works. We sprayed that area late one night when we stopped there to switch drivers. WE also loaded up a huge area in fairfeild, maybe you can check on it. Check your pm

Stop experimenting half way through your first grow. Grow it to maturity, watch it, learn from it. Do this a few times then experiment with different ideas and figure out what works best for you.

Exciting finds Randy! Earlier today my gf and I were pointing out perfect cyan habitats here in Sacramento.
Are your finds self-cultivated or were you hunting in the area when all of a sudden, "Oh shit, Cyans!" :mushroom2:

Nice randy! I can still remember the time I had came across my first psychedelic mushrooms and it happened when one day I had goten drunk then went out stomping through some brush because I had just lost my job. Then suddenly my vision became bright and all remembered after that was that I was that laying on my side laughing at some mushrooms. I ges you could say that it was one hell of a coincidence...

I was at a store when i noticed the woodchips and thought hey....why not check? "oh shit! Cyans!" But it appears Tahoe and someone else  had sprayed the area with mycelium a while back.
