today i drove my parents to the airport and on the way me and my dad had a nice talk. first he got me one flew over the cuckoos nest by ken kesey. and tonight he was sayin he went to an acid test with the pranksters and the dead in the woods somewhere. and he chilled at timothy leary's house in maui. he said he didnt do acid though, "i didnt really like it" is what he mumbled softly. we've never talked about anything drug related before so this ws pretty cool.

Earlier this week, I told my mom about all the drugs I've taken, and about how psychedelics are definitely the ones for me. We've had some pretty profound conversations since then, and I found out she's dosed more than me

All I got was that my mom got brought to a party one time and it turned out they were smoking pot (the late 60s) and she walked straight through and out the back door.
She also dated a guy with a motorcycle once. For some reason, I think she's telling the truth that there wasn't anything else. She's really naive even to this day and she married at 21.
My dad on the other hand... he never really told me much, just that he had no college education and used to own a VW van (THE VW van) and used to pack it with sixteen people laying on top of eachother.

My dad certainly has an adventurous past as well, unfortunately not that kind of past though or we'd probably still talk.
My dad could have been a professional baseball player or golfer, and instead chose the military (go fucking figure). I don't think he's ever done a drug in his life, and actually threw his college roommate (a football player no less) out of their first story dorm room window for bringing Marijuana into their room and "jeopardizing his scholarship." He rose to a rather high rank in the military (can't say exactly what it was, but I saw his uniform badges or whatever and they were rather impressive) and somehow used his military background to join the secret service. He protected at least one president, although I can't remember which one, and I believe resigned when Democrats got into the White House
Since then he's hunted on every major continent, golfed with professional athletes, coaches, and some of the richest men in America on a regular basis, and is a self made millionaire.
So yeah, sucks we don't get along.

that's awesome. My dad has some stories but nothing too crazy, he's pretty conservative but I'd like to pull him out of his up tight attitude.

My dad was raised on army bases, and turned into a hippie/heroin dealer with a huge head of curly air.
Told me the first time he shot up, he took something like 250 dollars worth of shots, at 5 dollars a shot before he stopped. Couldn't moved his arms after that..
Although im sure that story is exagerated. I know its true that he had a criminal record..
He's told me about beating a guy with a tire iron who fucked him over, and his friends killing themselves because they got in too deep.. and being beaten by edmonton cops in the 70's.
