what if after i boil then drain my rye grain, i mix up some brown rice flour with it to add some more goodies for them mycelium to eat, and it may also help take up any moisture that may be left on the outside kernals of the rye.
what do you guys think? or has anyone tryed it before?
peace

My main concern would be the flour messing with the moisture content of the jars somehow. But hell, what do I know? Give it a shot.

I've never done this. Think it would make the grains stick together but don't know. Give it a try.

The flour will turn into a clumpy mess and probably slow down your colonization time. You want grains to be loose so you can shake em well and pour them out of the jar easily.

It could also be tried the other way around by adding a slight amount of (cooked) WBS in the BRF/vermiculite PF style cake. (Also added a little coir in there.) I know grain wants to be loose and shaken because it needs air, so tried not to add too much to the ordinary cake recipe. We'll see...
