Loud! The noise of it surprised me.

My lover and I each took an eighth the evening before Christmas Eve. Homegrown cubensis, dried, the first fruits of my labor. We took them in tea, in warm water mixed with honey, drank the liquid, chewed the small bits that didn't crush to powder beneath my spoon.
We drank our tea naked, in bed, with the curtains drawn to reveal four inches of new snow. We visited the universe I know through mushrooms, a place of geometric design and flash color. It was a trip like the trips you like best; loving, sexy as hell, full of impulse and cosmic thought.
But when I began to come down, when the peak wore thin in places, when I lay flat on my back, wishing for the ecstasy to return, I realized something strange. The fading trip was damn noisy. Loud! As if a marching band coursed through the room followed by hundreds of chanting monks. It was both absurd and baffling. Did I really hear all that disconnected music? Or did I imagine I did, after the fact, some kind of loopy time warp synesthesia? Maybe the colors of the trip bled noise. I just don't know. I liked it.
Anyone else remember loudness after the fact?

Brain damage and bad karma and irresponsibility rolled into one, huh? Even so, I loved it and will do it again.

Yes you heard it.
It is not something you imagined, sort of.
It was real.
Some people dont understand these collections of interacting sounds.
They are fucking amazing, and go figure, some people have never and will never hear them.
Try to figure out what they are as I have done. You may be very surprized about what you find.
And fuck you nasty little shroomers that responded.

I've always thought that was normal.
Sounds like a nice result for your effort.

I'm confident the OP understands sarcasm.
Smell, Taste, Touch, Sound, and Sight, can all be replicated by the Psychedelic Experience.
It's all in your head, but that's the fun part.

I remember when I was coming down from a trip once, I kept hearing sounds, too. It was as if a movie had ended and I kept hearing the music you hear that signifies a promising future and new beginnings (but at the end of the movie). It was early morning -- just about the whole campsite was still asleep, and I had to run from one spot to another, and each time I went somewhere different, I would hear the same music again.
Maybe it was just grasshoppers or bugs, but I'm pretty sure it was only in my head.

Never heard any "disconnected music". But, a couple of times I've heard a loud "Oooik!" kind of sound in my head. It sounds a bit like squeezing empty glass bar mugs together by their handles. Someone I spoke to about it said it was a build-up of something somewhere. I didn't commit it to memory because he obviously wasn't a doctor and was basically just pulling it out of his rear. But, it was nice to have the sensation confirmed by another. Lets you know your head isn't cracking open...

Amazing times a million. So damn noisy, the sound and its echo filled the space, as if quiet itself was a banned substance. I felt as if it were the sounds of individual atoms, the vibration of molecule, some kind of sound we're usually too frantic to hear.
See, I could see through everything, see the multitude of layers that make my lover's face, see some kind of tangible echo of galaxy in the muscles of my own arms. My hands shed light like forgotten skin. If sound worked like sight, then perhaps I heard through the layers, into the void.
I hope it happens again.
