My stupid MSN

I have mixed feelings about my MSN account. I have a shitload of important contacts, but the second I log on 8 different people are like 'Hi, hey, how ya doin'? And I just can't sit there and have innane conversations with 8 different people at the same time.
So I usually just log on in offline mode.
It's kind of like call waiting, which I also hate. "Hi, I'm having a conversation with you, but will you please hold while I go and see if this other opportunity for conversation is more important then this one?"
I think we are trying to do way too much at once. Focus on one thing, not as many as you possibly can.
Grr.

I can't do it either, yet some people choose to scatter their attention that way. Perhaps in the business world it can fly, but I can't imagine it being very advantageous in one's personal life.

I spent about a year being on MSN most nights. Eventually my habits changed, i started drinking a lot less and i've slowly fallen away from it. I did the appear offline thing for awhile but now i hardly sign in at all. I think i've already lost a few people i really liked chatting to, which doesn't make me feel great, specially since i'm always thinking maybe one day i'll be enthusiastic about all it again. but if my life's not in that place right now there's not much i can do about it,, and beyond any attachment i have to those days i don't think any problems exist so fuck it.
I always preferred deeper convos and the people who talked that way and eventually the rest started feeling pointless,, only because i was getting bored of the whole thing though and the bullshit was only ever going to keep me happy for so long.

block inane people? i do. i only have a few dozen on my list, others aren't. i keep those to whom i talk to at least once a week, the others can still reach me but aren't on my list. you have to be forceful and clear with people or they'll stomp you with hugs and love and care

Msn sucks... I used to be so addicted. I would be on msn chat back in the day like 10 hours a day.. That shit is no good. I still use msn, but not like a drug
