This is what I came to on my last mushroom trip. If we can observe and analyze animal behavior, create clones and manipulate genetic code.. why can't it be the same with us?
The universe is an awfully big place..

I think it'd be interesting to make a list of each pewrsonality types thoughts on being in an experiement. For example:
The Narcissist: I bet I'm their main focus.
The Pessimist: Do you think they'll kill us when they're done?
The Optimist: It's for the benefit of humankind.
and so on and so forth.

Life does have a lot of things in common with a science experiment, for example the brutal 'trial and error' that we call evolution. But I know what you mean about feeling that there are beings watching and perhaps getting involved in the drama of our little blue ball. Methinks that's why man created religion

this feeling is common to my trips...i often feel as though everything lacks any form of importance, yet people often build realities around certain things they deem necessary...
while sometimes this feeling will lead to suicidal thoughts i always ultimately end back at the idea that since nothing matters i am free to do whatever makes me truly happy...its an amazingly weird yet beautiful thought process i can feel...

during trips I feel like I'm in a trip. As in, the human life cycle is a contrived experience or a project that is undertaken as part of the maturation process of the universe. I always get the sense that I will eventually "wake up" and remember what a trip it all was being separate from the whole as one of them humans.
But I rarely feel as if I'm being watched, more that I am the watcher and my watching is being watched... if that makes sense.

yea, i feel this way on a pretty grand scale, sometimes
but this little tinge of fear hits me at festivals after tripping for about 36 hours straight, usually at nite time. kind of like these are 'government' instituted events, and we are all being watched and studied

Ha! I had that thought about Burning Man. They could wipe out about 40,000 freaks with just a couple of bombs and nowhere to run. What they don't realize is that that would be just fine as I can't think of a better place to end my little stint here.
