Im wondering if this is even possible being that im in Virginia not near a cow feild or anything. We have had a rainy few days and I stumbled upon a bunch of mushrooms yesterday. Now today i go out there and theres even more because it rained last night and is still raining off an on im guessing. These appear to be growing just in the grass but there may of been a tree there a while back so maybe theres soom roots there....I am new to this and am actually not a mushroom hunter. I have done research before on mushrooms and today i have done about 4 hours. I'm just tryin to figure out if this is possible. I have pulled a cap and have it on tin foil waiting for a spore print. The inside of the cap is a darker color maybe a black or so. Here our some cell phone pics. I have a Lg Env cell phone which is nicer then a regular cell phone camera. Ill post pics from a camera tonight once my girl comes over. Honestly if they aren't edible i still really enjoeyed doing the research on these.

Liberty Caps....No.
and liberty caps don't necessarily (if ever) grow in 'cow fields'.. they grow in grass, not poo.

KIP, I'm glad you can see the big difference. Many people are less observant.

The ones in the pictures are pristine and untouched, and yours have been rained on.
I think they are the same species.
Take a look at the ones in the below link, some of them look a lot more like yours:

Hey thanks for your responses and not just laughing yall have a good holidays i think im going to try and grow them using the cyber WBS myco-bag tek method. I just have to contact the guy and figure out what to do at the end he just says "Once the bags are half colonized you can break it up by hand and mix up the contents of the bag. This will help it colonize faster. Before long they are ready to go."

No where near a cow pasture, VA? The chance is one in a trillion, IMHO. If your interested in what Libs look like, here ya go-IHS Pics Libs The easiest way to find them is first to eliminate all the places where they are not! I would say you just eliminated your back yard, VA. I would suggest looking about 3,000 miles northwest of VA.
Close but no cigar!
