grain spawning to grain

I have been reading all night about bulk. But my question is if I have colonized WBS, can i just spawn that to more grain? like more WBS or popcorn or even rye berries?
And how many times can I do that? If I keep it sterile and hydrated can I just keep spawning colonized substrate again and again until I have like 10 lbs or is there a limit where it is just too much?

With grain you do what is known as a grain to grain transfer, as grain cannot be inoculated out in the open.

As said, this is a grain-to-grain transfer or G2G transfer.
This is almost ALWAYS done in a glovebox or with the use of a laminar flow hood. Open air transfers very rarely succeed.
There is a limit to how much mycelium will grow. After so many generations and transfers, the mycelium starts to age. This aging, or senescence, causes degradation of the genetics and will eventually lead to mycelium that fruits mutants, poorly, or not at all. Past this stage, the mycelium will no longer grow.
Keeping your original starting jar refrigerated except when doing transfers allows the spawn to last quite a long time.

ok so the myc degrades with age. So if I have "master" jars of colonized grains of each strain I have I eventually need to make new ones so that the myc doesn't get too old. Are we talking every year or how often?
Is this the smartest way to keep live specimens of my strains or is LC the better way to go about this. I am getting quite a collection of strains but having a fridge full of them all live and ready to go would be awesome.
Also how long will dried shrooms last? I currently have 1 dried gram of like 5 different strains in the freezer. I dried them to cracker dry, put them in these plastic cases that I have and tossed them in the minifridge. I haven't had much sucess with bulk grows so I am stockpiling until I have like an ounce of dry to try to turn a profit to pay for my hobby.

Way to get your thread locked. This isn't a forum to learn how to sell drugs, it's a mycology forum. RR
