pet inside terrarium

I have been wondering this for a LONG time and unlike all of the posts about keeping plants inside terrariums i have failed in finding any involving keeping pets like geckos/frogs/turtles/snakes etc. in a terrarium. Does anyone know anything about the dos and don'ts of what can be in a terrarium? Im pretty sure its possibly considering that geckos and lizards live in the exact same environments that mushrooms grow in, and im quite sure that they won't start eating them and tripping balls.

It's for the most part curiosity, but i have many reptiles and it would be interesting to see them amongst mushrooms growing.

Turtles and other reptiles harbor massive amounts of the salmonella bacteria. Those would contam your cakes/cases EVERY time, I'll guarantee it. I've heard about plants in a terrarium... I like this train of thought. It more closely resembles an ecosystem, albeit on a very small scale. I strongly encourage you to try the plants and report to us.

crake is right. reptiles carry lots of bacterias and such. wouldn't try it if i were you. simply feeding and cleaning reptile cages, not to mention dicking with your mushrooms, seems like it'd really increase the risk of contamination.
just a thought on using plants. i have a book from the 70's on growing shrooms and they suggest using ferns. ferns use up lots of co2 and release tons of O2. if anyone were to use plants, go with ferns.

Just be sure to PC your lizards at 15 psi for at least 60 minutes.
