i have some wbs and spawned poo growing . i have left this at room temp witch is right around 76 degrees. i was going to try to worm up the temp to get things moving along faster.i went to wally world and got me a heating pab on low this pad is right around 90 degrees i check the temp before putting my jars or bags on it . i wanted to know should i go back to room temp? or is 88-90 ok /better then room temp. what does this hurt ?i know 86 is what i am looking for.

No!!! 82F is the highest you want to go. The glass warms up and the MYC produces it's own heat just not enough.

i thought it was 86 that is what it says on everything i have read????and it is b+

It is, but like I said the glass and the heat from the mycelium offsets the incubation temp. if you incubate at 86f the temp of the sub is going to be a couple degrees higher. 82 is safe and still pretty warm.

ok ill go with that. maybe i will just set the pad in my incubator and not under my bags/jars thanks for the help any other comments will still help. the heating pad is in there with a towel for some space and is staying right at 80 so far thanks for the help. Merry Christmas
i still dont know what the bad side of this is will it kill my myc??? if it is to high even a couple of degrees??

90F is pushing it but I think it will live into the low 100's.

oo ok well i am trying to speed up my myc so if this slow it down i will take it back to room temp of about 76 ish
but from what i have read this will speed it up a lil right??/

90 degrees F. is too hot...
as said...
It will slow things down as well as greatly increase the chances of contaminants taking hold & growing.
incubate your jars at 81 degrees F.
and colonize your bulk substrates at room temp.

ok thanks. i took it out and am going to just let it get back to room temp. it was doing fine. just thought i wasn't giving it enough heat for it to do its full potential. i am probably at 25 -30 %col on bags(wbs noc with spore syringe) in about a week and a half ill just sit back and let it do its thing. thanks for the help. hoo hoo hoooooo

I've found my best results are when the TiT incubator is set to 79 degrees.
