Problem with straw grow (pics)

Hi guys merry Christmas. Ive done my first straw grow, just in a small container to get my practice on. Anyways its been 2 weeks and its not fully colonized. I spawned with brf and i keep it covered with foil with knife slits in.
I heard contam will take over soon and its doesnt seem to be colonizing much more. Is there anything i can do to save it?
Can I leave it a bit longer and if contams do start can i pull them off? Or should I start puling off the uncolonized straw now?
thanks.

Wait for the pros to tell you, but it looks airy enough to look like cobweb to me.
2 weeks is a loooong time, especially for such a small container.

Straw needs to be done in larger containers, since it's a bulk substrate. It will give little to no joy in small substrates. I won't even think about opening pictures from image shack, so if you want us to take a look, post them here. RR

its about 3 litres. Wouldnt cobweb have covered the entire surface though?

Have you tried other growing methods first? Before jumpin head first into straw, you may wanna try out something a lot more user friendly.
Me personally, I love brf-cakes and coir casings (ryeberrie spawn). Have you tried using straight forward cakes? If not, should really try that out first.

Yeah ive tried rye with verm casing a few times, and countless brf cakes. Im into edibles though, cakes just dont do it for me.

i'd just run with it. throw it in the FC now. mist and give FAE a few times a day until you get hyphal knotting. then you know the pins aren't far away. I am like you I am easing into straw. I have 5 lbs of it that I got from Mushymart but I have only chopped up some and put it in a pint jar, then I took a WBS amazon jar and did a few spoon scoops of g2g transfer. shook, closed it up, and incubated as normal. within days I saw my inoculation points spreading. I am still away from my babies for like 4 days, hopefully when I get back I have a fully colonized straw jar. I will definitly make some sort of how to thread if I get good results from it.

First off image shack took almost 20 seconds to load that picture, plus its not uncommen to start getting popups outa knowhere from using those sites.
Its full of adverts too.
I remember a few times when viewing images my popup blocker went crazy and blocked about 5 pop ups.
Upload them to the shroomer.

Safe. Im just worried about the uncolonized straw. Also would I leave it in the container or take it out and fruit it like a cake?

i would put it in a FC just like it is. you could even put a casing layer on top if you wanted.
