you'd serve a minimum of 2 years on manufacture with fines up to $150k, probably another 5 on parole just for the manufacture

The cops dont give a fuck what your excuse is. If the cops knock on the door with a search warrant you zip your mouth until your lawyer is around. Then you let your lawyer worry about "excuses".

is that what they would charge me with even though i didn't have anything growing at the time? or is that if they actually found mushrooms growing?

that's the thing, they can charge you how ever they want. a guy I work with was
charged with intent to distribute, they knew he was dealing, they sent in buyers
they watched him, when they kicked in his door they found 2 blunts and he was
still charged with it. he got a years probation after the charges were reduced

they word the laws so they can hang you with double jeopardy legally

in most cases, yes. in some cases a public defender can, depends on whether or not
they're actually working for you or if they're just trying to get paid

My friend that used to post here actually got busted with pretty much the same shit you have, minus the mushrooms. They threw it out though before it got to court because they didn't have a search warrant when they first entered the house and made a bunch of really stupid mistakes. He would have gotten charged with conspiracy to manufacture though if it wasn't for the fact that they fucked the case up. Just give your setup away or chuck it, its not worth your freedom.

Well I'm glad to see some people with some sense came to weigh in on this thread.

If they get a search warrant, they already have to have shown a judge that there's a reason they believe you're doing something illegal, in this case either growing or selling mushrooms I'd assume.

So at the point police have a warrant, come in the house, and find ANY of that stuff, you're fucked. I don't care how good your lawyer is (and it doesn't even sound like you have a private lawyer), they'll get you with something.

Cops generally don't like to get caught busting into a place with a warrant just to end up sitting there holding their cocks, they will stack as many charges as they can just like Prisoner said so they'll get something.
