High,
Sorry I cannot realy answer your question. But I tumbled on some info to concerning an other strain.
This is the PF spore race. It is also called "Matias Romero" at other spore sellers sites or Amazonian. It lately has picked up the name "PF CLASSIC".

Part 2:
About the PF hawaiian: PF got it from a hobby mycologist in Holland (PFE) who was supplying it as a spore sample to Amazing Nature and Smart Botanics (Dutch Weed folks and items for sale). PFE named it "Golden Teacher".
So maybe something confusing is going on with the Tex strain.
(For the Mods: If you can add this to my other reply feel free to do so!)

They're both from the same area but are different spore-races = GCs are an older strain whereas texas is a newly domesticated spore-race

Where did you get your information from? PF Hawaiian look nothing like GT to me. So your saying they decided to name it Golden Teacher? What about the other real GT strains? Now you are begaining to confuse me!
Also, I too have heard Matias Romero was being sold as Amazonian by other vendors. Yet MR are unique in the traits, far different than any Amazonian strain I have worked with.
Sorry for going on about other strains Vatoloco. I wouldnt worry about the GC and Tex strain too much. Treat them as different strains. Grow them out and decide for yourself.

In reply to:
was talking to someone during a trade...
said I was looking for the texas strain (eatualive's).
he said he had gulf coasts, they were the same thing.
I have gulf coasts already.
Now I see another vendor selling a 'Texas' strain that is not eatualive's strain.
anyone have any input on this...
Yes, I have input. I carry both strains. Our researchers have been working with the Texan strain (as well as the other strains we carry) for months on end and have isolated one of the most strongest vigorous mycelium networks that I have seen in a cubensis. They are currently working with other strains which we will introduce to the community as well. But to answer your question, the Gulf Coast and the TEXAN Strains are two totally different strains.
The individual who told you they were the same has been misinformed, and therefore misinformed you. They are not the same.
But I am glad to see constructive debates like this take place.

I am not pointing fingers or suggesting the shroomery plagued by it, if that is what you assumed. Why the question marks? You mean you havent noticed this?

Hey there, I got the Brazos County (around Texas A&M University....Aggie shrooms..;-)..) and the Goliad County items from MM. There is a difference in the two spore races in speed of colonization, appearance of mycelium, etc. albeit small differences but differences none the less. I believe those items may have originate from the folks at the stainblue.com website. Either MM is part of them, they got their's from him or vice versa...or they both got them from a third party. Best regards, KingBolete
