Hey all, what is your favorite type of fruiting chamber (or your current one if your new) and why?

I just built my own PVC martha and it's working out very well so far. In the past I've used some modified storage tubs, but nothing special like a monotob.
After this grow in the martha, I'm going to try out some monotubs. Everyone seems to get great results with them.

Two trays of wet perlite at the bottom of the chamber keep it at roughly 50% humidity at all times. There is also a cheap cool mist *inside* the chamber that brings it up to ~95% - 100%.
Two 60 watt CFLs 12/12 schedule. Small air pump running 12/12.
That's pretty much it.

Yeah thats my next project, so simple and effective. Plus you dont even need perlite.
There are however more risk of contams.
If i was doing monotubs as we speak then i would probably favour a mono over a shotgun.

I need bulk substrate experience before I move on though. Pasteurizing properly is something that still scares me a bit, and I don't think I can do it quite right yet; plus, having a source of hpoo would be nice.

I just picked up 300lb. of Hpoo from a friend... I have to let it weather though, and that's not until spring... damn.

This has been my favorite setup so far.

These are simply regular old mono-tubs, fitted with fish tank air stones, and the bulk spawns divided up into seperate bags within the tubs.

This way, if you contam a section early, you can simply remove a part of the bulk, without losing your entire tub.
Since I incubate spawn at around 75 degrees, tin foil is used to cover each of the seperate spawns until they are popping their first pins.
I still fan, and mist here and there, but the air stones make up for any of the times I just can't get around to it.

Crake,
Originally (10 + years ago) I did an 'ice chest with plexiglas window in its top' type FC .... as depicted in earlier versions of the PF Tek. Humidification and FAE was accomplished using an ultrasonic humidifier. The ultrasonic's output was 'dried out' using a series of plumbed 2 liter bottles .... then later a timer with the bottles. The ultrasonic and plumbed in bottles made the whole set-up look like a TOTAL DRUG LAB. It did work well. Servicing the ultasonic and the bottles was a hassle.
Recently, I have used monotubs. Simple 'set and forget' is appealing. They have worked well. I have lost whole tubs due to contamination. Also, I like to peek and fiddle .... so my personality works against the monotub concept.
Recently, I have used the Shotgun style FC and it has worked well. I love the passive aspect of the Shotgun's humidification and FAE. I can do multiple trays (different strains and bulk substrates in the same FC) (and ability to toss a single contaminated tray). I do mist and fan to initiate fruiting and this causes me worry (TYRANY OF THE TERRARIUM) as I travel a lot and am gone for periods of time.
I've still have the ultasonic humidifier and a cool mist as well as a fogger .... and I think for my next grow I will do a FC with some 'timed automated misting (via the ultrsonic or fogger) and 'timed automated FAE with the cool mist running dry ..... or some combination thereof ...... automated extra humidification / FAE / evaporation with the passive humidification and FAE of the shotgun FC or monotub.
Long round'about way to say I am still experimenting and fiddling and fabricating.
Good luck. Have fun.
Rico

Hm for Cakes I really like the plastic cake box thing you can et at walmart.
It locks on the bottom as to store humidity
It's compact so you can be sneaky
It's cheap and has plenty of room for 4-5 cakes at a time.
It gave my friend good results and it sure as hell will give me good resutls as well.
