End Result of Caramelization?

I have a particular batch of popcorn spawn that I suspect to have been caramelized during sterilization. I remember some kernels were tanned to light brown after coming out of the PC.
Now, all the fruits are short and immature in size. Either they are short with slender stems and small caps (1.5" diameter) or they are short and stocky with small caps. Generally, they're all runts.
Poor man's pod with two fluorescent bar lights each at 15watts. RH around %90. FC at 78-81F.
What do you guys think? Is popcorn just not cutting it? Caramelized?
I'm going to experiment with rye for my next batch-o-cakes.

Caramelized? Nope. Sugars and lcs do that but popcorn it burns.
Little shrooms? maybe the popcorn its a pretty crappy sub could have the rh up at bit like 90-95.
Rye much better then popcorn all the way around should spawn these cakes seeing how you are useing spawn anyways. Maybe to some coir?

Bump the humidity up a little, generaly though with a casing layer that is kept moist you should have good success with 90% rh.
Small shrooms are usually the result of a dry substrate. Or lack of RH.
You can rehydrate the substrate during the flush by pouring water down the sides of the tray, leave for a few hours then drain any excess off
