Alright heres the situation. I was incubating my newly inoculated jars. There has been no growth yet. And im using a TIT. Well i had it on 86. At about 2 am. Then i woke up at 5 am and it was 101. it was probly only that for a lil bit. Im glad i woke up then. SO i hurried and took the jars out and set in the room thats like 70. NOw i have them in the tit at 74. My question is do you think that there ok? Like i asid theres no growth yet since its only day 2. Thanks and merry christmas!

They're most likely fine. I had newly inoculated jars, some with and without growth, hit around 110 degrees and all came back within a week so don't sweat it.

86F is about four degrees too hot to begin with. I'd recommend room temperature for colonization. RR

I have never worried about my substrates colinising in less than optimal temperatures, i would rather them grow steadily than being stunted and possibly knackered by a sudden spike in temperature.
My incubator is simply a cupboard that houses my water heater, now that its winter the temps drop to 70F instead of 75F when it was summer.
But it still works like a charm, fully colinised jars in just over 2 weeks.
RR is quite right that 86 is too high, mycelium will produce its own heat as it metobilises the food in the substrate, the myc can produce from 1-3F of its own heat.
If you must incubate (for example cold temps) 80-81F is a good temp to aim at, it gives u that little bit of room for error. It would be also a good idea to maybe have a thermometer hooked up so the heating only comes on when it drops below 80F
But for most part, having them sit at room temperutre works just great
