no, it is fine, that is mycelium (a good thing). but let me give you the most valuable piece of advise you will ever get here. use the search tool at the top of the page for questions that have most likely been asked before... people get extremely annoyed answering the same questions over and over again. and this one has just topped its millionth repeat. this forum is supposed to be about furthering the mushroom cultivation community and pushing the envelope of cultivation methods. not filling the servers with tons of the same thread over and over again... really sorry for sounding like an asshole.
if you want to know what a contam looks like go look in the contamination forum...there are more pics there of contamination then you could ever look at.

yes what you have there is a very common case of fungal growth.. called mycelium that has contaminated your brown rice flour and vermiculite.

those jars are horrible for seeing the mycelium. Try to save up afew bucks and get the clear one for next time. AS for a contam or not, it is hard to tell . Something doesnt lok right but it could just be the jars
-------------------- Stop experimenting half way through your first grow. Grow it to maturity, watch it, learn from it. Do this a few times then experiment with different ideas and figure out what works best for you.

just looks a little soggy to me....but like you said the jars could be throwing it off.
and justin, yes i would say they are fine, wait it out and if they turn a different color they are not, if they stay that nice white color then they are....and i seriously didnt meant to come off like a jackass, i understand where you are coming from wanting a personal opinion. it is nice to learn this hobby with a buddy you really trust so you can bounce thoughts/ideas off of eachother. that really helped me out when i was just starting.
