Civil disobedience

Hi, so I live in Victoria, BC, Canada and I'm wondering if anybody is knowledgeable in Canadian civil law? The question that I have is: I'm contemplating getting purposely arrested as an act of civil disobedience. The City of Langford has decided that they want to clear cut miles of forest(public land) in order to make a quicker highway to "Bear Mountain Ski Resort". The whole idea is bogus. It'll increase the number of cars on the road; it's a prime example of unsustainable development. Anyways, regardless, there is a group of people who have been "tree-sitting"; Basically, preventing the loggers from cutting down the trees. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) are coming in within a week or two, to remove and arrest all of the people that are there in protest. I'm wondering what the minimum and maximum possible legal ramifications of getting arrested as an act of civil disobedience would be, for both a minor and an adult. Anybody that is able to extend some help would be greatly appreciated, seeing as I'm planning on traveling and potentially going to university elsewhere next year, It would be upsetting for this to interfere with my future plans. Thanks.
peacefulness.

the government totally sucks, ya mothafucka.
the government totally sucks...
most likely this is government work and it's contracted and you're not going to be able to do anything about it.
i'm all for the environment, but going to jail doesn't make you a martyr for the cause, just makes you dumb.
but that's just me
if you feel that strongly about it, fuck it all and no regrets, right?

Hey dude, I know very little about the laws, but I think a more meaningful demonstration would be anonymous sabotage. If you were able to drain fuel tanks of logging trucks or slash their tires, you could significantly impede the tree-killing. The issue with this method is that no one knows it was you who did it. When is this tree-sitting happening? I might want to be a part of that.

Freedom of Information only has value when it is put into practice.
So here, like, is some free information.
That aside, when the police does come, make sure there are CAMERAS, phonecams and such. Civil disobedience is greatly aided by video footage on youtube and press.
Make sure you alert the press, local news, papers etc, get reporters there to hear about your protest and to film the police action. You'll probably be cleared out of there but press coverage chimes in other protesters too.
Visit canadian-topic websites and announce your protest and urge people to come protest with you. Do the same with nature lover web communities of the moderate and more extreme persuasion.
LET IT BE KNOWN THAT YOU GUYS ARE PROTESTING THERE.
Every cops dream is a low-profile situation. Instead, make sure all of Canada will know, and care.

If you work the Web and the Media properly, you are far more useful to the protest than being just another protester up a tree.
