Do species other than cubensis have particular strains?

Yes. When two compatible hyphae join to become dikaryotic mycelium, a strain is born, regardless of species.

Ah, ok, just confused cause you see people offering B+ and golden teachers, but on other species or whatever its just "Pans" or whatever, and they never name a strain. I guess it must be because they are less popular.

Portobello mushrooms and button mushrooms are both strains of Agaricus bisporus.

Don't they come from different points in the life cycle of Ag. Bisporus?

I always understood that button mushrooms were an "albino" strain (white food sells better) and portobellos were a strain closer to the wild agaricus bisporus and that were picked later on (allowed to open)
