PLEASE STOP HATING

HIP HOP SO MUCH! (to mods: this isnt on the same page anymore!)someone made a thread recently about hip hop making their dick go limp during a goodbye sex sesh. i just want to clariy that whatever was playing was not hip hop, thats what you call rap. and you obviously dont know anyhing about hip hop or rap or know the difference because you called it hip hop and very rarely is hip hop on the radio.
Im sick and tired of rap giving hip hop such a bad name. It has completely brainwashed millions of mostly white people in a america to absolutely hate and despise any form of this genre, and its fucking bullshit.
HIP HOP and RAP are TWO DIFFERENT THINGS PEOPLE
rap is full of that bullshit, bling bling, oo look at my 22 inch rims, i get all the hoes, ill pop you with my 9 etc etc
HIP HOP is full of good music, spiritually enriching meaningful music with a message tot he people that listen to it. I would have to guarentee that any of you guys reading this right now with that engrained mindset of "hip hop is garbage" probably have never heard an album or a TRACK for that matter from talib kweli, mos def, common, Zion I, ROyce da 5'9 Dead Prez, the roots, Little brother and too many other equisite HIP HOP artists to name.
the shit that you guys are hearing nowadays is garbage MAINSTREAM rap being played on the radio with the likes of young jock, 50 cent, akon, hurricane chris, baby and mannie fresh, and a bunch of other garbage ass RAP artists. this is the music that is demoralizing and giving HIP HOP a bad name because it has a somewhat similar sound to it.
HIP HOP is the best music in the world, and I say that without an ounce of doubt on my mind. some of you are looking at this crazy i know because once again the shit that you hear on the radio has already brainwashed you to believe that any form of rap is complete garbage. HIP HOP completely changed my life growing up in highschool. through the lyrics in the hip hop i began listening to, the music really reached the depths of my soul and made me take a good look at my life, and what i was doing wrong (waisting all my time smoking weed al day everyday, flipping out on family) and what I should be doing with my time instead. listening to talib kweli, and macklemore and dead prez truly encouraged me to reevaluate life itself, what im doing with mine and this crazy world. HIP HOP absolutely with out a doubt in my mind improved my life for the better and in continue's to do so. there are countless times when an mc through his lyrics will present a baffling topic to his audience and explain it indepth through rhymes. many mc's are extremely spiritual and crave for nothing more than to impact their viewers and really try to convey a message to them. i've learned so much from hip hop lyrics its unvelievable.
many people in this world probably will never discover and recognize the true phenominality and potenial for hip hop to transform, change and impact peoples lives, and that is because of the devastating overcast that horrible mainstream rap has on hip hop. hip hop has helped so many people in this world including myself. it has saved the lives of people. for people growing up in a ghetto, projects or poverty stricken neighborhood, hip hop serves as one of the few outlets to stay out of trouble and out of the ruthless streets. instead of slanging drugs on the corner, a young hip-hop-inspired kid might spend his time writing rhymes to himself, or freestyling the struggles him and his broke family have to go through. he uses his time PRODUCTIVELY instead of hanging on the block taking pententury chances...feel me? its either the drugs, basketball or rap in a hood. just look at most of the hip hop artists of today and they can tell you the same thing, in the hood, its either "drugs basketball or rap" it should really be drugs basketball and hip hop.
anyway what im basically getting at is for those of you that despise hip hop(which in some cases is reasonable because of what rap has done to hip hop, you guys dont know any better) it would be smart to reevaluate yourself about what you feel about it because chances are you've never heard any reall hip hop, just the garbage rap on the radio, because if you did theres no possible way you guys could hate it so much. HIP HOP is absolutely fantastic, educational, inspirational and REAL music.
the whole reason why people kept saying hip hop was dead was because of garbage mainstream rap taking over the radio industry. you never hear real hip hop on the radio unless its talib kweli, common, somtimes kanye west and a few others. hip hop is alive and always will be, the thing is, its not mainstream, its what you DONT hear which is called underground. thats what i listen to, THAT IS HIP HOP the people that listen to hip hop on the shroomery know exactly what im talking about, and if you didnt know of anything i was just talking about its my pleasure to inform you its not HIP HOP you hate( BECAUSE YOU NEVER HEAR IT ON THE RADIO!) its the MAINSTREAM RAP...i just felt that needed to be adressed

Wow... All that text about hip hop and not one mention of KRS-One or Gang Starr. Shame

And what if someone gives Talib Kweli or Mos Def a listen and still decides they don't like hip hop? Will your urgent cry to "stop hating" still apply?

Personally I think Mos Def should stick to acting and comedy... Hes better at both of those IMO. And I think calling Hip-Hop "spiritual" is QUITE a bit of a stretch

I like how Devin the Dude sings about how shitty his car is, and how his friends are stingey bastards who will take his roaches out of his ash tray.
I'm gonna have to roll up a fatty now.

you must be kidding? I have the opposite opinion, his acting sucks, his comedy is average, but his music is pretty fucking awesome, apart from a few misses he has made so many great songs. not to mention he can get pretty experimental and courageous even though it doesnt always work..

KRS-One - 9MM Goes Bang Album - Criminal Minded (Back in 87 when it was Boogie Down Productions)
Yeah I suppose you can say hip hop has the potential to be spiritual and have a positive message but like everything else, it can just as easilly be negative and promote sex, drugs, and violence. And I have no problem enjoying either message =D

Right indeed it is? How about Anti-Flag's Terror State? That was easilly their greatest album, The Dead Kennedys all through the 80's, Authority Zero, Bad Religion, Pennywise, (hed) PE, Disturbed had a couple tracks on 10K Fists, Dope has had quite a few songs about goverment, System of a Down has been involved in world issues for a long long time.
I'm not saying ones genere is better than the other but saying that Hip-Hop is more socially conscious? You must be joking sir.

Yeah I'd have to agree and say some subgenres of punk are probably the most socially conscious music.

When I think about it, like really think about it, I think GOA and Drum and Bass are the most socially conscious music around.

actually that wasnt referring to myself being lonely, i have a fiancee and i get pussy regularly. it was referring to my testicle being lonely.
wtf do i care if i have one less nut than you? i can still have kids and it makes sports easier. my sack hangs directly in the middle and never sticks to my leg.
