Yes, there is youtube mobile. Understand though, that I am running Windows mobile 6, which, like "normal" windows, sometimes requires getting plugins, and new programs. As an example, I had to download "youtube pocket".

1) pick any good service provider that uses a sim card
2) go to ebay and buy a new unlocked iphone(boxes are only opened to unlock)
3) ???
4) Profit!

Ugh, I had Verizon for a year and it was the worst experience of my life. I've used every service provider and my best experience has been with T-Mobile and Sprint.

T-mobile has the blackberries and the new T-mobile Shadow which is badass. All of those are under $500 and quite badass.

Yea you might wanna check t-mobile out there service is either hit or miss though definitely check your coverage area.

I've got a sidekick 3 with them (I'm posting from it now) and I like it a lot. The main seller for t-mobile with me was unlimited internet and text for $20/month (on top of phone bill). When I was looking at data plans with other carriers they were expensive as fuck and weren't unlimited.

The downside to the sidekick is it can't send pic mail even though it has a camera (it can email pics however and receive pic mail) or view video online. I'm pretty sure some of the black berrys/smart phones they offer are set up for pic mail and video though.

On the I-phone:
I HATE the touch screen keyboard. I don't know if my fingers are larger than average or what but when I was messing with the I-Phone in the store I kept hitting wrong letters by accident, give me a real keyboard ANYDAY!

My friend has one and he swears by it. He says the only down said is that it is kinda hard to text on that phone because of the touch screen.

once you jailbreak it, you can install 3rd party apps.  there is a thriving scene of people (hackers) making apps for the phone that really opens up the phones capabilities

is this safe though?

I love my Iphone, all the phones that I had before, were nothing compare to this one. Then I didnt own a smartphone before.

The only part that I dislike about the iphone is the batery life.

SO far the applications are evolving. I am still waiting for a movie streamer over the web from ur pc. It can be done with music using a program call Webot., but not videos yet. Shit I hope teh dude that made the PimpStreamer for psp starts coding one for the iphone.

the phone is great AT&T SUCKS HARD. IMO it's not worth getting the phone because the service provider is, and has been, terrible.

is there anyway to do like people here are saying but change from AT&T to another service provider? or would that make the price of the phone go up?

well, if you can find an unlockable phone then yes it technically is possible to do so. However, i don't know if apple licenses unlocked phones (i would think no since they have an exclusive deal with at+t) so that would mean some modification was done to the phone which may cause any warranty to be void.

But the theory behind it is sound. You can buck "unlocked" phones and use any service provider that uses SIM cards. You just call up or go in store to sign up for the service and tell them you already have a handset, it's not required for you to tell them what model when you sign up. Then you get your SIM card and place it in the phone and you have service.

so i would buy an unlocked Iphone, go into a store to buy a service plan which is set up on a sim card and tell them that i already have a phone, place the sim card into my Iphone, and i would have a working Iphone without AT&T service and without a warranty?

would i still be able to get videos, music, and the other fun things?

how hard is it to set up the sim card?

If you can find an unlocked iphone, then yes, it should be possible. However after spending a few minutes on google i don't know if you'd want to. Lot's of articles proving that an update on your phone will disable the hack and render your phone useless. I dunno, to me it's just not worth it, but if you want to take a chance on it that's on you.

Do a search for your self on "unlocked Iphones" on google and read.

I have an HTC touch.

If I were standing next to anyone with an iphone and we both downloaded ANY type of data (web pages, email, etc.) I would absolutely crush them on the EVDO network.

My monthly plan costs HALF of what you would pay for an iphone, (as well as being superior in other ways), and the phone was $250. In addition to that I'm running Windows mobile 6, which (in addition to being WIndows) has millions of third party applications and is completley customizable.

I am also scheduled to get GPS capability in the next few months, and have access to other perks like google maps. In sum: I think everything about my phone crushes the iphone.

I'm so glad I chose to open this thread even though I don't want an iPhone. That HTC Touch looks sick as fuck! I'm due for an upgrade on Sprint right now & I think I'm gonna go pick that up with my X-Mas money.
