also tell me if my incubator is correct
temp is 84f i read somewhere that between 84f and 86f is good for this strain let me know if thats wrong please give me any tips what i can do better
5th day
5th day
Psilocybe cubensis 'PES Hawaiian'
Origin Unknown (ha i bet you thought it would be hawaii)
Description Average fruit body heights reached five to seven inches. The stalk is fleshy although not very robust. The cap color is caramel to dark red to the center. Average cap diameters are between one and three inches. The caps also display some rather pronounced spotting, which often remains present until full maturity
thenewguy05's report ~ Pesh ~ Decent colonizer. Very rhyzomorphic, mostly satin-like but some parts are VERY ropey rhyzomorphs. nice caps that are tan to orange then yellow and white from the center out. semi round to pointy matures to a china hat shape. stems are big and meaty and tend to be hollow. defined white flecks on the caps. veil tears clean most of the time. deep dark black spore print
Cultivation Info Colonization times are fast, often consuming 1/2 pints of spawn in just less than 13 days. It usually produces larger sized fruit bodies that somewhat resemble the Golden Teacher. It's not certain if there is a relation between the GTs and this one, but they do share some similar characteristics.
History A strain originally from the Hawaii based spore retailer, Pacifica Exotic Spora. Psilocybe cubensis itself is not native to the Hawaiian Islands. This strain is highly recommended for first time microscopy as this P. cubensis exhibits many of the "classic" characteristics commonly associated with the species.

You got an incubator setup just like mine. I like mine so, hell yea. That heater maybe a bit overkill for that small a tub thou, my tubs are a bit larger, with a smaller heater. And its still powerful enough to get up around 86ยบ if I dont moderate it right when I leave my a/c in the room off. So keep that in mind.
Should spraypaint the inside of the top tub black, if you want a dark box.
Goodluck, hope your jars work out.

Drop it a few degrees, when the mycelium is growing it produces heat, therefore you could be reaching too hot, e.g. 26 c / 90 f

Too hot. You want your incubation temperatures to be nearer to 80F. I broke down my incubator anyway, because I started knocking up more jars than it could fit, and because I had read in so many places that they were unnecessary. You see, your mycelium may like the slightly higher temperature, but so do contaminates. So, I quit that. Now it's all at room temp.
Anyway, those are BRF jars aren't they. You have a hell of a wait left. Pint BRF jars are going to take substantially longer to colonize than half-pints would have. It's okay though. Just be patient. In the meantime, learn how to use whole grains as a substrate and learn about monotubs, and bulk subs and all the other crap out there.

The above advice is solid! Although, that last pic is making me nervous. You have that jar on carpet? You're playing with fire there! Put it back in the chamber and leave them alone for about 3 more days! Stop the Peeking! Let them do their thing. They will eventually change to the Beautiful white color your looking for. Good Luck!

to answer your question about the jars they are 8 oz so they are 1/2 pints and this is only 5 days in the incubator and its al ready at 60% i think i only have 1 more week i read somewhere that this strain only needs 13 days to colonize thats it i cant drop the temp because there is no setting on the heater so what i did was put the incubator in my closet with the top off in total darkness so the air flow can hit them and cool them down some

Colonization time depends more on the temps than on the strain.

Discussion of strains belongs in the strain thread, the sticky in the main mushroom cultivation page.
If you keep asking strain related questions here, a mod will probably lock your thread.
