Nissan Altima Coupe and Chevy Cobalt "sport" coupe (formerly SS)
Cobalt was the EXACT same thing as my current Sunfire coupe. The interior looked like my sunfire. it drove like my sunfire. I was not impressed.
The Altima Coupe?
Oh God. That thing is SEXY. It has that sportronic transmission, you know where it's an automatic, but you can manually shift gears if you want. The Altima looked sexy, drove like a fucking DREAM. You didn't even need a key. just that little unlock thingy... and even then you didn't have to press unlock on it to get in the car, it just sensed you had it so the door opened. then you just pushed a button to start the car.
oh God it was nice.
I'm probably going to get one in the very near future.
I want to check out the new style Honda CRV before I decide on the Altima.
I really want the new Dodge Challenger that's coming out this spring, but the insurance on it would eat me alive.

I haven't driven any of the 2007/2008 "sportronic" transmissions, but I have my doubts I'd find them a satisfactory replacement for a true manual transmission. My biggest complaint with automatics is the lag time between pressing the accelator and actually accelerating. When they can get rid of that completely then maybe the semimanuals will be acceptable to me.

with the sporttronic you can kinda do that.
It's true, it doesn't replace a manual, but driving in stop-and-go traffic, especially on hills, is a pain in the ass when you have a manual. I'll take that convenience over not being able to rip out of stop lights any day.
The Altima coupe was VERY zippy, so I don't think having a manual transmission would give THAT much more ummph in a take-off. It was fun to shift while driving down the highway. Just down shift while you're passing someone and it'll push you back into the seat lmao
