fermentor! with pics

Hello all,
I have recently built a simple fermentor that I'd like to share. I inoculated malt lc broth with a shiitake agar wedge just to see how it would go.
The vessel is a large jar that once held calcium sulfate, it can hold a working volume of about 2 liters.
I put a line in for air, it is aluminum tubing with small holes drilled in the bottom, the line is hooked up to a fish tank bubbler, with a 0.2 micron inline air filter and I had a filter on the outlet too, but it came off so I used airpore tape over the hole.. I figure with constant air flow out, it shouldnt really be a problem.
There is also an injection port for inoculation and filling syringes with culture.
The idea was that the air bubbles would provide agitiation as well as what little air would be needed (with a large lc volume, I figure air might be a little more important than with small volumes)
If I need more agitation, I could just sterilize the vessel with a stir bar and put it on a stir plate.....
maybe this is overkill, but there is something about a full jar of bubbling fungus that makes me feel warm inside....
here are the pics:

below is the first harvest. These are all of the syringes I had sterile at the time. the big ones are 60 mls, then there is a 20 ml, and a 10 ml.

Nice pics, nice tek..
I believe that oxygen should help the mycelium to grow in the LC!

Nice pics Lipa! I am glad to see the fruits! Enough lc in my house to incoc lots and lots of blocks!
FSP, I get the filters from work. We use them once and then they get tossed, so I pick them up, throw them in the clave and use 'em again.
I pretty much have an unlimited supply.
I am trying to decide now what culture to throw in next...
