Question about setting up a webstore of sorts

This lady wants me to build a webpage for her, where she can advertise and sell various stained glass stuff and whatnot. I've never built a website where you can buy stuff directly from it and I'm just wondering how that works.
Is there some type of software that lets you set something like this up easily? Like credit card orders, paypal etc. I will most likely be using dreamweaver to build the site since I am pretty noob when it comes to css/php and whatnot. But any help would be appreciated.

well, with paypal don't you do all the transactions through the paypal site? If she went that route you would just need to include her paypal info and how to process the transaction.
She needs to be a merchant with a credit card company, you'll also need to set up a secure connection to process the CC transactions otherwise you're just setting her up for a law suit. I'm pretty sure there are ways to buy the scripts and what not needed to run the CC's however so you could look into that route.

A lot of webhosting companies will provide e-commerce stuff in their hosting packages. You'll (or she, more likely) will have to set up a merchant account with her financial provider of choice to move the monies back & forth, but the software to enable product browsing, adding to carts, and checking out may already be freely available through the web provider.

Ah.. that is good news. I've used bluehost hosting in the past because it is way cheap and very excellent with tons of great features. The features and bandwidth you get per dollar can't really be beat from what I've seen. But anyway I just checked my old hosting with them and it does indeed appear to support shopping carts and credit card support and much more. So that is good news, makes it easier on me. Surprised I didn't check there before I asked.

Gr8fulJ420 is right if you just do a simple search on Yahoo or Google you will find literally thousands of sites for online based storefronts. Pretty simple overall. Good luck getting everything going.
