I had a breakthrough at the gym today!

I was able to run my first mile of the day in 7:21, at a steady pace, all without losing my breath! In high school it took me 13:00 to run the mile. Then I managed to run 7 more after that! I could've just kept on going but I had to shower up and go to work. I've dropped about 25+ lbs. in just over a month and a half, I'm hoping by summer time I can walk around without a shirt on (at least that's what my goal is). I take 2 green tea fat meltdown supplements in the morning accompanied by an herbal energy supplement. Other than that I eat healthy and workout 5 days a week.
My goal is obviously to lose weight, but my main area I want to work on is my chest. I've always had man-boobs, especially once I hit puberty. They have benign lumps or something behind them that make them stick out more than they should. Most of it's genetic but I know with enough training I can turn that into muscle. What exercise should I focus on to do that, and would it be endurance training or just regular weight/cardio lifting?? I'm still pretty new at this.

One word: Swimming.
Far as I know... swimming is the best cardio workout you can possibly get, especially for the upper body. Your gym should have a pool if it's at least half decent gym... use it. Swim a few laps every day. It's even better for you then running since it's a full body cardio workout with virtually zero impact and high resistance. Swimming burns fat and tones muscle like you wouldn't believe. Have you ever seen a fat swimmer? Didn't think so.
2. Pushups. That should be a given.. but pushups work almost every muscle in the body, with a major emphasis on the chest and arms. And you don't need a gym to do them, you can do them anytime, anywhere.
3. Bench press/chest press - also works the chest very well
Using the above combination of exercises should help burn man titties away very fast. And you do WANT to combine cardio with weight training for max results. Start with cardio first and do weights after. But split it up.. for example.. cardio in the morning and weights in the evening. Don't lift for more than an hour or you will be working against yourself.
As with any weight lifting... start low and slowly work your way up. Proper form and repetition is the most important thing for lifting but especially if you want to burn fat.
But the absolute most important thing is that you stay dedicated and stick with it.. and you will see the results that you are looking for. Which it sounds like that is exactly what you are doing. Your mentality is the most important thing. And good job on staying focused on training and getting a good diet.. that is key. Good luck.

Wow that's really cool. It's nice to see people really take hold of their life like you're doing, instead of just complaining.
One of my best friends from high school & middle school was a little thick in middle school but he was built like a brick house by the end of high school and he's even bigger now. I'm not sure if he completely followed this book but he did at one point buy "Arnold: The Education of Bodybuilder" by Arnold Schwarzenegger and he bought whey protein that he added to shakes...that's about all i know

Good job man! I'm also working on losing weight and you've already given me even MORE motivation to keep at it. It's tough but I know in the long run it'll be worth it
