First Time - Myc Colonize question... Using EZ Grow Kit

I am using a spawn bag kit from Homestead. I have had the Rye grain On top of my tv inside the shipping box protecting it from light. It has been on top of the tv for about a week now. Do you think that the warmth from being on top of the TV will be alright for colonization? I'm hopeing the direct heat the TV is giving off dosn't kill the spores. If it does I just got another 4 pack of Spore Syringes. How long before I know for sure weather it's OK or not? If it's not could I re-inoculate it with another strain of Psylocybe? How will I know?
Thanks sturmer88

Buy a thermometer and tell us what the temp is.
But you are probably ok

first of all, search.
second of all..
i'm sure the ambient heat is not enough to kill your spores.
this seems actually like a pretty decent idea, although i dont know much about spawn bags..
check and see if the spores have germinated yet (is mycelium growing?)
if not a good place is in a cabinet above your refrigerator..
this might be a good idea, but also might be bad because those air holes atop your tv that you're blocking with the box were probably put there for a reason..
i'd be more worried about your t.v. overheating than your spawn bags.
hope this helped a little bit.. got anymore questions? just search..

I've been using the search quite a bit. I only ask questions when I need a specific answer that a search won't obtain. No I am not seeing any growth yet. I had the bag in a cupboard in the kitchen for a couple days but it had no warmth and we don't have a heating system in the house. After I placed it over the TV I noticed water condensation in the bag that I didn't see at colder temps. I am guessing this is a sign of the incubation period finally starting. Unfortunately we don't have a cupboard over the fridge so the TV is the next best thing. It's not really hot it's the same amount of heat a fridge gives off. As for the Holes on top of the TV being blocked. I don't think thats a problem cause it also has holes on the side of the TV also. Plus the box only covers about half of the top of the TV.
Thanks for the input everyone.

The Cambodian strain is what came with the spawn bag kit. They take longer than a spore syringe inoculation since the spores were on a cotton swab already in the bag. At least I read they take longer cause the spore sample is so dry. I just got my order from SporeLab of 1 PESA, 1 TAZ, 1 OAXACA, and a free Mazatapec syringe. 3 for 25$ with an extra for forum members. I havn't decided which strain to try first and what method to use for my first time. I'm leaning towards the PESA. I already have a dozen quart canning jars and a pressure cooker. So I might go ahead and make up another substrate to inoculate in case the Cambodian doesn't colonize I'll have another for back up. I need to use the Poo that came with my kit soon. Which strain out of the 4 I mentioned would you suggest to start with for a begginner?

Strain related questions are better asked in the strain thread.
I haven't worked with any of these so I can't really comment on those strains, but it is really a matter of preference as they all require the same parameters for growth.
