What do you think of Salvia?

I'm just wondering what people think about Salvia and its use as an entheogen.

None of the options really apply for me. I've never used it in a serious way, so I'm not sure of the legitimate use of it. All I've done is take bong tokes with friends, laugh for 5 minutes, then its done.

Have only tried a few times, x5 extract, either wasnt strong enough for me to break through or my technique wasnt to good.
I almost broke threw once, got very confused, was in 3 places at the same, inside and outside, sinking into the couch, leaning on a wall.
Lasted for 2 minutes.
Never tried it since, i didnt like the "gravity" effect as its coming on.

Salvia is some scary shit. I've tried it in every reasonable dosage from trivial to moderate, always with careful and thorough mental preparation, and now that I've done it at each level a handful of times, ONLY with trepidation.
Overall, not a particularly pleasant experience. The sudden and extreme departure from normal sensorium into the salvia head space is very unsettling. VERY different from any other substance I've ever used. The only "positive" is that it is over in a matter of minutes in real time, which can seem like an eternity with the time dilation it is capable of producing.
A sober sitter is STRONGLY recommended. Sitting or lying down should be considered mandatory. A fairly dark, quiet, and secure setting will help minimize panic/paranoia. You may very well be utterly unaware you've done a drug (or who you are, for that matter) and will likely wonder if you'll ever come back to any semblance of normalcy. That's where your trip sitter comes in, to remind/reassure you that you WILL be back, and to trust your "wetware."
NOT a party drug in the least. No insights, just hallucinations of the highest, wildest order. Someone once said (of the Universe, not salvia, but it fits) "It is not just stranger than you imagine, it is stranger than you CAN imagine."
My $.02 N.B.

I wouldn't really have chose any of those options.
I pick...um...
It's fucking amazing, super intense, wonderful illustration of the psychedelic experience all wrapped up in a few minutes time.
This BLAST FUCKING PUNCH IN THE FACE method of... experiencing turns oh so many people off. Oh so many people don't want to let go. That's fine. If everyone let go, the world would be a very different place.
Which I know is the idea, but fucking, we need to stabilize the economy before we can start switching that shit over.
Back to salvia. It's amazing in all the right ways.
I roll fucking fat ass blunts of half dro and half 10x salvia, mixed throughly before put in the blunt, ya know, so it burns evenly and is a nice distribution of salvia and weed.
I'll do that, and rip it out of a bong, pipe, whenever it needs to happen.
It doesn't happen often, only for the reason that it's sometimes easier to work in the environments mush and LSD provide, and I'd rather put my money toward those, but if its there, there is no hesitation.
I have no problems with the salvia plant.
GIVE IT TO ME, I WILL SMOKE IT FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE NOT YET LEARNED HOW TO BE A MAN.
This post is fucking ridiculous. I am not the short, to the point, fork-tongued mean prick I usually am. I should have mentioned I dosed about... goin on 2 and a half hours now. My bad.
But salvia... GOOD, GOOD STUFF. FUN, AMAZING, INSIGHTFUL, USEFUL, POWERFUL FUCKING TOOL. If you didn't like it, it wasn't your time to do it. Keep it right there next to you on standby until IT IS YOUR TIME.
AND YOU WILL KNOW IT IS YOUR TIME BECAUSE THERE IS NO OTHER FEELING LIKE IT.
Ok?
Fuck, people.
Salvia loves you and only wants you to be happy, she's sorry she's so fucking hard on you, but she only wants to be efficient and get you to the point quickly so you can do something REAL with yourselves in your short god damned ~70 years here. You know what I'm saying?
Go ahead and layer your experiences all day like redgreenvines talks about, thats how it works anyway, and you're more than welcome to do it slowly with mush and acid, I do it, it's slow, great, love it, awesome.
Salvia just wants to speed it up for you a bit.
That's all.
Salvia <3's you.
Learn how to be a man.

You most certainly can roll salvia. Half bud half 10x salvia in a blunt.
Doesn't even have to be 10x, that's just what I have used, but wouldn't be against using anything else.
Mix it up real thorough before you put it in so it burns even. It will be VERY different from a blunt of just weed.
It will not be a breakthrough, no. That isn't the idea.
That's what the bong and pipes are for.
I have all kinds of experiences with salvia.
Not every experience needs to be a breakthrough to be experienced.

Salvia is to Psychedelics as Wario Ware Inc. is to video games. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wario_Ware
It is like a random collection of mental tricks, micro in comparison to other psychedelics.
Each experience is practically even more wild and different from the next (for me and my friends at least), yet each experience seems to follow an overall set of rules, sometimes convoluted by the varitey.
Occasionally you will get a micro game that is a chore, much fun, clever and creative, a BOSS fight...In this case I'd say Salvia has a Gestalt to it: The sum of the parts are greater than the whole. There is much to gain.
No matter how many times you die off of Salvia, you'll brain will always reset itself. I'm pretty sure.

Just know that it's scary as fuck. You won't know what's going on, to say the least. It's very hard to have a good trip your first time because, as somebody above me said quite well, you don't have the ability to imagine how strange this shit is. It's like trying to imagine what tripping is like before you've ever tripped. You can read about it but you can't know it.

Very brief, very bizarre, most don't know how to use it so they give up after the first or second time of not breaking through and leave it at that. Puts me into slow motion. Makes music sound frightening to me. Crazy.
It's alright, not my cup of tea really. Every now and then it's cool.
