time gets stuck? physics, shrooms etc

I just looked over another post about atheism and shrooming. it was too long to read it all but it got me thinking about what thoughts occupy the minds of people who are spiritually different from eachother and what not. Here's what I have been tripping about lately...
First off, I am not religious at all. I don't get spiritual in that sense. When I trip hard (too hard sometimes) I get lost in time, in a quantum oriented world. Anyone read Brian Greene's books The Elegant Universe or The Fabric of the Cosmos? Those are the thoughts that run through my head when im tripping out of my mind.
I would not call it spiritual at all. My mind wanders and starts to ponder the arrow of time. I start thinking about "instances of time", time travel possibilities, quantum entangled stuff etc. It is difficult to explain what happens to me. The last 2 times it has happened I've gotten quite nervous, as I got stuck in time.
We have estimates regarding the age of the universe. Ideas about arrows of time. All things have the natural tendency to diffuse. Think about the universe expanding constantly, water evaporating into gas will be completely evenly, yet randomly distributed across an entire room until all particles are seperated by the same distance, you eating an apple. Everything goes one way, if you could control every last quantum particle you could reform that apple to the T. However, we can't do that. Sure gas can be pressured into turning into liquid or solids, even naturally, but some glassware wont naturally form on the counter top from a pile of glass on the floor. Ever. As Greene and others debate, everything strives to be diffused into randomness. That is the arrow of time in an essence.
Some people say the universe as we know it will expand for nearly eternity until every last little quantum particle is ripped apart into a vast, evenly distributed "mist" of whatever. Of course, this eternity is only relevant to us and life as we know it. In the scope of the universe and eternity, earth doesn't even get a shout out. Man kind is nothing, and you, what you are doing at any point in time is pretty much sliding along an arrow until you yourself, are diffused into the ground.
When tripping I realize that the world, and many events that happen in it are only seen by me, and are part of my freefall with time. I sort of feel like a time traveler. I'll try again to put it in words. Picture a group of leaves falling from a tree, which is across the pond I look over from my porch. These leaves fell in an absolute path, from an absolute place, while I was absolutely sitting there watching them. The event will never unwind, "unhappen", for a moment in time that event and myself were entwined.
Of course, that is the good part of the trip. When euphoria, curiosity and adventure are remarkable. I marvel at the power of human senses to view time unfold.
The last two times I've gotten stuck in sort of a freeze frame of this freefall. Eventually the mindset I was in turned from deep thoughts about the wonder of the universe, to deep thoughts about whether I could ever stop viewing the world as a snapshot. Of course I remind myself I've ate something and that my mind is getting a workout...these things will eventually end...but I've had some really crazy thoughts and seen some really crazy things when stuck in time. it WAS scary at some points.
The smiling side of all this is, I found that I was not stuck in time by recalling the second level passcode for Zombies Ate my Neighbors, on SNES, "XBGD". I loaded it, sighed in relief at having remembered something that was not part of my "snapshot" of that day/moment/trip. I could not figure out how to play, and the rest of the trip was just coming down, but I was safe for the time being.
Maybe this should have been a trip report after it happened. But having happened twice, on 2 different doses, I am sure I'll be there again.
Like I said, I haven't tripped tons, and most of the people I know haven't talked about tripping like this, but I figure there are some more experienced people around here. Does anyone else view the world like I do when they trip? How do you avoid getting stuck in time? My mind gets exhausted from wondering, and eventually I've got to just lay down and stare at something because I don't have the ability do do anything else. Last time I woke up with a really bad headache the next day too. I love tripping, I love exercising my mind while tripping, I don't like being trapped and not knowing whether earlier happened or if there is a "later" in my "existence".
the office is empty today, lots of time to think and read stuff online =) happy holidays.

Heh, sounds like you'd be a blast to trip with first off. I love thinking about things such as that while tripping balls. I wouldn't worry too much about getting "stuck" in time, its something that happens occasionally as your mind races. For me I've always thought of it as extreme time dilation to the point where I'm sure an entire hour or more should have passed but in reality I blinked. It can be kind of scary at first, but after a while you'll recognize it as its happening and feel some sort of comfort knowing that you already know this and its familiar. I would stay at doses you're comfortable with right now until you learn to cope with that fear to the point where you can handle it easier. You've already discovered the key to breaking out of those stuck looping moments, think about something else anything else. If you change one thing this loop, then its no longer a loop. Next time you feel it happening, just stand up and walk to a different room, force yourself to change topics of though, or just laugh and see how long it'll go (although doing that in itself might break you out, even realizing you're stuck might break you out). That scary weird feeling isn't something to avoid as long as you don't push it to far. If you just go with the flow and let yourself kinda bounce in and out of those scary places, your own mind will prevent you from going to far and you'll learn some neat things in the process. All in all just keep doing what you're doing, think of something else and remind yourself that this is a drug and it will end. Like I said before you've already found the key(s) to stop it from going out of control. have fun and trip safe.

That's really interesting, I love quantum stuff like that.
You should read The Dark Tower books by Stephen King, they have nothing to do with science or anything but the whole theme of a world that's "moved on," where even time and space are turning into randomness is heavily prevalent in those books.

Interesting. Had to ring in on this one.
I, too have studied and made a valiant attempt at keeping up on the latest thinking in quantum physics. I've read much of what Peter Coveney (The Arrow of Time), Thorne (Black Holes and Time Warps), Michio Kaku (Beyond Einstein, Hyperspace, and other books too numerous to list), and of course Hawkings works (blah - don't think much of him).
Anyway, when shroomin', I do sometimes intentionally ponder the various theories of spacetime, as presented by these various authors, however, I don't seem to get "stuck" as you say, which seems to me to be more a mental loop than anything. The major theme of your thought seem to surround the notion of entropy...the inevitable loss of organization and tendency for all things in the universe to become gradually less organized.
OTOH, I HAVE experienced some time dilation, the perception that "external" time has slowed to a crawl. TV or a silly movie (Fantasia, Alice in Wonderland, or any Mel Brooks comedy) are GREAT for breaking out of that. Mushrooms don't typically or severely affect me in that way, although salvia has put me in the mindset you have described, and much, much worse.
I think the prior responder gave good advice for recognizing and breaking the mental loop. Change of venue or, as I've suggested, fixing on something entertaining and benign.
Good luck! All should be well! N.B.

I've pondered a theory relative to augmenting vibrations with psychidelics. It's whimsical thinking. Some of it is based on research of multiple dimensions as well as our own awareness of cycles that are manmade and natural. Ever watched a CRT while feeling some hard hitting bass?

Cool. Don't know if you saw this, but there was a program on the Discovery Channel something akin to "Best Science of 2007" or some such. As everyone knows, when photons (light) are shone through 2 adjacent slits, it forms an interference pattern of light and dark, rather than two bright lines, thus demonstrating the "wave" property of light (ie constructive and destructive interference).
Anyway, this Japanese researcher built an apparatus which separated pairs of photons, and he showed that photons can ONLY exist in pairs, and that the pairs have a "spin" or orientation which is 90 degrees to one another. He then allowed the photos to separate down different axis in his apparatus (at 186,000 mi/sec) and showed that no matter HOW FAR (1 mile or 1 MILLION miles) apart they were, that if he "flipped" the orientation of 1 of the pair, the OTHER one >>>instantaneously<<< flipped also.
Turns out that this "action at a distance" is faster than the speed of light (ie truly instantaneous) and the explanation for this observation in OUR universe is that the photon pairs are essentially the tips of what we can think of as opposite ends of an infinitely long "string" (helps to think of them as ends of a short solid rod) but that in their universe of origin (ie where they really reside!)they are simple "points." This is, essentially, experimental proof of the existence of other dimensions/universes (ie that we actuallt DO live in a multiverse) which has always been suspected, because of the simplicity and unification of physical laws when the mathematics of all the known forces (electomagnetism, strong, weak nuclear force, gravity) are performed in a 10 dimensional space.
I've read for years that "in the beginning" a 10 dimensional universe split into (our) four dimensional universe (three spacial and 1 of time) and was accompanied, at every point in space by a collapsed (on a Plancke scale SMALL) six dimensional, unobservable universe.
This researcher has provided the first experimental evidence that what was previously SUSPECTED is in fact true! What a mind-fuck, eh??? N.B.
are all manifestations of
