DIY Bong Repair?

Well I just got done moving and my beautiful bong somehow got broken in the move. It broke right in half -- its a pretty clean break and I'm thinking about trying to repair it myself. I have never done any glasswork but I have welded/brazed things.
I was hoping I could fuse the two pieces back together with a acetylene torch or something of the like. Has anyone done this before? Any insight would be highly appreciated!

can be done, thou ive never done it... you would need to have access to something that would hold one broken piece in place and rotate it like here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMDAEXPolXs then you would have to widen the inside of heated up part the way they do chillums for the pipes or bongs but just wide enough to fit the other broken piece in. then you heat up the other piece as well (both are heated up at this moment) and put it in the widen up part then fold the wide part over. kinda like putting two pcv or metal pipes together but instead of screwing them into eachother you put it in and fold it over by reversing what you did with while you were widening the piece...
hope it helps as i kind of lack of words to describe the process

But then the winter came, and the grasshopper died, and the octopus ate all his acorns. Also he got a race car. Is any of this getting through to you?

superglue and epoxy are good options if you have enough time/patience and a steady hand to hold the pieces together while the catalyze make sure the stuff ur using is good for glass otherwise just wrap that sucker in duct tape, that stuff fixes damn near anything

i don't think most people consider duct tape an option because a nice bong isn't just something you smoke weed in, it can be a display piece for your house, a work of art, etc...
the appeal in a good bong is very much aesthetic and duct tape kinda ruins that.

you cant use acetylene, its too dirty of a gas and will get in the glass and break it.
Use propane/oxygen... the glass will be weak in that spot unless you cure the glass in a kiln.
look up glass blowers in teh phone book, aslong as u clean the glass it shouldnt be a problem.
To clean use Salt water, Iso and acetone

I've fixed a few pipes with superglue, it works great unless you let the excess glue get on the outside, then it looks shitty. I'd wipe down the outside of the crack with a warm wet cloth or something after glueing. GL

Never use superglue, duck tape, or epoxy too close to anywhere that will get heated up. Me and a friend learned this the hard way one night haha. Not only does it give you a terrible headache every time you smoke it also tastes like shit. That being said, certain epoxies are more than amazing for bong repair since they have the same refractive index as glass if you get the right kind and can take a hell of a lot of abuse. Superglue will snap fairly easily if you put horizontal pressure on it especially compared to some of the better epoxies out there.
