I'll snap some pics later this evening, but I wanted to get some input.

This is not a domesticated strain, though the print was taken from a cultivation. The first print was taken from the wild.

The myc ripped throught he wbs/verm cakes really quickly and I only inoculated at two points. I was hoping that it would pin well and flush well too. In most of my experinece, Once I noticed pins, I would start cleaning the dehydrator trays.

These guys seem to be taking their time and some of the cakes have just had knots for days.

I'm also waiting one some wbs jars to finish up so I can see how they respond when spawned to bulk.

I used the pf tek as well because I only had one print and I wanted to ENSURE that I had at least a few caps as a backup in case the WBS innoculations didn't take.

So, the pf tek is straight forward. half pints, right ratio, pc'ed 15psi, colonized at room temps, in a fc with FAE, 5" perlie, 90% humidity.

This is my first attempt at cultivating a non-domesticated strain. Has anyone else experienced odd anomolies when using a rare or wild MS inoculation?

i just received prints from another shroomery member. They were also the first print taken from a wild non-domesticated Texas strain. i inoculated 5 wbs jars 5 days ago and saved the rest of the print. from those, 3 are almost done colonizing completely 95%+ and the other two are forming very slow at around 15-35%.Tomorrow i am going to pasteurize my coir/verm and compost and make 3 spawn bags, ill update on those and snap sum pics if anyone wants to see.

And the wbs spawned to coir/straw/coffee....

Is this the most uneven pinset you have ever seen?

This morning, I checked the pile-o-fun-guys on the fan, and that pile looked about 1/3 of the side it did when I put them on there. Those things really shrunk in size. Quite unlike their siblings on the BRF/Verm Cakes. Thier PF Tek Counterparts simply wrinkled up a bit, and got really hard and dry. These ones in the picture on the fan shrunk a whole hell of a lot.....
Any theories?

Aha!!

Very nice flush, Fraggin.

Usually for me, any mushrooms that are grown on cakes don't lose too much size when they're dried, but any mushrooms that are grown on casings usually shrink up a lot more...

I never guess. It is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts.
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

Mistakes are a part of being human. Appreciate your mistakes for what they are: precious life lessons that can only be learned the hard way. Unless it's a fatal mistake, which, at least, others can learn from.

Ok,
I clipped 14 caps to print...

Only 3 blessed me with spores.. One being a partial print.

I talked with others familiar with this strain and they said this is normal...

I already have 3 people that pm'd me about getting prints..
