I really do. I refuse to do it. I could deal with an occasional slow dance but forget anything else!

I don't think you hate dancing, but hate how you look dancing. Dancing is probably one of my favorite activities, I stopped giving a fuck what people think.

You are dancing for the wrong reason.
Go to a costume party on Halloween, in a town where you don't know anybody, at a club playing good tunes that you like.
Then get a few drinks in your, or whatever your poison of choice, and let the music penetrate your soul.
Then tell me you don't like dancing.
You just feel stupid. Stop worrying, or get better.

Dancing represents an archaic and wholly obsolete ritual behavior that serves no purpose in contemporary society, other than to make scumbag schemers rich and tv casualties look like retards. Dancing people belong in concentration camps, especially dopey corduroy wearing dancy people.

Oh yeah, and speaking of archaic ritualistic behaviors that should warrant a final solution of sorts. Laughing, as a behavior, represents a psychological weakness that should be eliminated through the implementation of a comprehensive eugenics program.

what a stupid post. dancing is a form of subconscious communication and can be used to learn more about yourself and the people around you.
furthermore, it can be used to clear out unwanted negative emotions that are causing muscle and skeletal mis-alignment and making your body work in-efficently.

Sorry to the OP, but I have to agree with this.
I don't think it's that you hate it, but rather that you're insecure about it, or uncomfortable.
I can honestly relate. I feel very awkward when I even think about dancing in public. Goes way back to when I was a kid. I'm really jealous of those people that can go out on a dance floor and dance with no inhibition.
Maybe if I took enough MDMA....

I also hate dancing I used to tell myself it was because its completely arbitrary and a vestige of our past, but that's pretty much rationalization. now I know its because I'm nervous to think how people would see me, and I always feel uncomfortable and self-conscious. That's why my dance sessions are confined to my room, its so fun! and i dont have to worry about dancing wrong or wierd, etc

there's no way to dance wrong unless you are doing a dance with specific steps
i prefer dancing by myself or in a small group at shows; sometimes it's fun though just dancing with one other person
