I'm not sure if this guy haS FIGERUED it out yet

I will try to recreate the environment of the West Oregon sand dunes and get the Azurescens to take to the Puget Sound environment. A portion of the patch will be dug up and moved every year to a location along the Puget Sound. There are places locally with sand dunes containing dune grasses that the Azurescens will probably adapt to readily. Within ten years, Psilocybe Azurescens will be a predominant species in the Puget Sound Region.

That's not a method that's an experiment. Did you read the entire article? It's about someone trying to grow an isolate that thrives in a particular local environment.

i think his results should show whether or not he has. what is it you think he has not figured out?

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

Well I do not have the time to read through Skillets cultivation ideas, but it sounds like valid enough of an experiment.

yeah, since there are no obvious significant envoronmental factors that i can see to limit the introduction of this species once the dune grass biome is established , it's just going to come down to whether it happens to work. if they become established in their new environment, the grasses provide an annually renewed source of nutrients and the experiment should bear out how long the colony succeeds. i've often wondered how hard it would be to get P. azurescens to establish in the bay area's large expanses of iceplant, as they also have large quantities of annual dieback that could function in a similar manner, and provide and equal to supperior degree of cover.

And in this instance, would require not only for the individual patch to thrive, but for it to fruit, and the fruiting bodies to sporulate, then the spores to find a hospitable environment to germinate.
10 years seems a VERY short window for a new species to become a "predominant species" in any region.

However, I like the tek. I aspire to try similar techniques locally, with other non-native active species that thrive in habitats with similar environment and substrate.
It just seems to me that the fellow has high expectations, and that after 10 years the new species may be doing well, but not have gained enouh of a foot hold for us to detect their establishment.
