Beyond the Psychedelic Experience

I was just outside smoking a bowl and a butt when I started thinking...
Okay, so if "normal" everyday reality is limited to perception (meaning everything that you are aware of at any given time by means of your senses), then what is the psychedelic experience limited to? Some may argue that the psychedelic experience, itself, is the expansion of the senses, as to "go beyond" and transcend reality as we normally perceive it. However, this "psychedelic experience" must still be limited to the 5 senses. After all, even as fully functional human beings, the only thing we are capable of perceiving at any given moment are what our senses are telling us (that is the 5 senses of touch, hear, see, taste, and smell). Of course, you may have a different take on this, and I'd be glad to hear your thoughts.
My question, though, is what is beyond the psychedelic experience? If the psychedelic experience is generally beyond the "normal" reality, what can further transcend the psychedelic experience? What would happen if someone were, say, to have a further 6th, 7th, or even 8th sense?! What would they perceive, and how would it change their view on reality both in a normal as well as psychedelic way?
I guess with this train of thought I came upon a lot of questions but very few 'answers'.

The psychadelic experience (on mushrooms at least) cuts you down quite a bit. It doesn't really open up more states, it shuts you down to one state, the singularity. You literally feel one with everything. Hell everything is the same thing when you're that out there.

That's actually a really interesting thought. My thoughts were that it opens up more states, but it could really be taken the complete opposite way, to the "singularity" as you put it. I definitely agree with the feeling one with everything bit as well as everything being the same when you're that out there.

It isn't like using a psychedelic should give you a 6th sense, you still seem to be operating within the same senses, just perhaps usings/interpreting them in a different way... characteristic of the substance used.
You are still using the same hardware, just tuned into a bit of a different wavelength

Maybe put on infra-red goggles while tripping?
Still at least would be neat

What you are looking for is called a breakthrough. Take a DMT trip for example, if you take enough then you can go beyond the psychedelic part into different worlds and meet different beings. Also we have 6 senses not 5. The 6th is our third eye, or "chakra". Most people are unaware of this 6th sense and only few decide to develope this sense.

to me, the psychedelic experience will bring up your confused suppressed emotions/beliefs, these must be honored and accepted before you go to a lighter state unless you are in a really good mindset to begin with.
