I think I might be getting ripped off.

I've been sending my computer in to get rebooted about once a year because of the advice I got from the computer shop where I bought it. Last couple of times after getting it back it looked like they never even opened the box, just switched shipping labels and shipped it back with a bill for $59.95! I got kinda suspicious the other day while over at a friend's. He said, "Shit, time for a reboot" and then just turned it off and back on!!?? I didn't want to say anything and appear to be a fool.. Am I?

I really... really... hope you're kidding. If you're not. Well... I'm glad you can afford the $60 for absolutely nothing.

I didn't know what "Rebooted" was before I saw my friend reboot his. I thought that there were boots to be replaced. (You know, like on a car's CV joints). Should I ask for my money back?

The boots are the little rubber feet on the bottom of the case that raise the case an 1/8th inch off the desk, they prevent bugs like ants and cockroaches getting into your PC and making it buggy.
Send it to me and I'll replace them with genuine parts for only $39.95 and you get a free curtain for your windows program.

Wait wait kidding aside... by reboot you mean:
Step 1: Turning the machine off Step 2: Turning the machine back on?
Or is there some kind of registry cleaning and stuff going on

On a more serious note... it never fails to amaze me how some people either have no sense of humor, or sense for sarcasm. Either that, or they're far too fucking stupid to detect said humor.

Computer Tech Here!
Yes, well...it really is tricky. Lot of people can fuck their shit up rebooting something. You sometimes need to force quite out which could corrupt very important windows files and ruin the O/S. What you need to do is leave it with a computer tech (like me) and we can reboot it for you.
Rebooting involves a number of things and differs from tech to tech. Once a year is ok, but I recommend once every 3-4 months. Be safe...your going to thank me in the end!

I know what you mean.
Every Saturday I have to pay $150 so that my wife can get her pipes cleaned.
I don't think anything is wrong with her car so I don't know why she gets her pipes cleaned so often.

Computers are easy to fix, if you hire the "nerd squad" or whatever to come and fix your machine you're a n00b.
