drug tests for $6.95 (S/H)

I haven't posted in a while and this is a good one. Ok, maybe not a good idea, fuck this company for working with schools to get kids scared about drugs.
I encourage people to use the coupon code at the bottom if they're interested in getting a 10 panel test. The ones I got were only 3 panel, I paid ~$20 for 10 drug tests about a year ago.
http://www.duluthnewstribune.com/articles/index.cfm?id=56483§ion=News
Teens in the Maple school district may soon face a new test.
They don’t need to study, but passing could mean better grades and attendance and a better chance of graduation.
The district is offering parents of students in grades 6-12 vouchers for a free drug-testing kit from Testmyteen.com. The Web site sells kits that test saliva, urine or hair for drugs, alcohol or tobacco.
The vouchers available from the school district are for the 10-Panel Urine Drug Test Kit that tests for cocaine, amphetamine, marijuana, opiates, methamphetamine, barbiturates, benzodi-azepines, oxycodone, MDMA (ecstasy) and propoxyphene, according to the Web site.
The school isn’t involved after sending the voucher to the parent. It’s up to the parents to test their child and do what they want with the results. All inquiries about the vouchers are confidential, said Greg Blair, director of curriculum and instruc-tion.
The test offers students another way to say no to illegal drugs. It gives them a socially acceptable way to say no when pressured by friends to use drugs be-cause they can say their parents test them, he said.
It’s voluntary, proactive and a good way to assist students in staying drug free, Blair said, and a way for the school to help par-ents fight drug use.
Helping students make the right choices and stay on track helps Maple improve academic performance and graduation rates, Blair said. If students aren’t making poor choices involving drugs and alcohol, school safety, graduation rates and at-tendance improve, he said.
The district has handed out fliers advertising the vouchers at school conferences and sporting events. Information about the vouchers also is being included with fliers for holiday concerts at Northwestern High School and Northwestern Middle School.
Parents can call or e-mail Greg Blair to receive a voucher, which is good for one $18.99 test per household. Parents are responsible for shipping and handling.
The district first handed out fliers Dec. 5 during parent/teacher conferences, then handed them out again during a Dec. 7 basketball game.
Some families already have inquired about the vouchers, Blair said.
“It’s kept strictly confidential. We’re here to help,” Blair said.
The test does not gauge alcohol consumption, although parents can purchase a separate test for alcohol at the same site, he said.
The company gave Maple school district $5,000 worth of vouchers for the tests — enough vouchers for about 260 tests. -----------------------------------------------------------------

Interesting situation...
Whether or not your parents would agree to a test is between you and them. However, we will make available to you the same thing we make available to parents... a free kit. All we ask is that you cover shipping costs ($6.95) and we limit the offer to 1 kit per family.
Since we don't take phone orders and everything is online, simply go to the order screen for the 10 panel drug test kit to place your order and enter the following number without the brackets (1277) where it says "coupon code" or "voucher code" and the price will drop from $18.99 to ZERO and the only fee that will remain will be shipping at $6.95. We will send you the kit in non-descriptive packaging to protect your privacy.

And people blame drugs for killing their kids? Testmyteen?
First off all, that site name is VERY condescending.
Second, if you don't think that teens should experiment with things as light as marijuana, you should just kill yourself.
Third, what the HELL does 'best wishes' mean?

Yeesh! I'm glad I'm well past my teen years. Kids can't even fart without getting into trouble these days.

Ridiculous. I won't ever test my children. Unless they get into much harder drugs.

This might be true, but the fact is, drug tests are an alternative for parents who don't know their children, and don't know how to raise them to make safe, healthy decisions. Instead of teaching a child how to function independently in the world, this type of "testing" coerces behavior using fear.
Using fear to control children has many negative consequences, one of which being the fact that when they graduate high school, the looming threat of parents is removed, and not only do they lack "healthy" decision making skills, but they're incredibly curious about the things that their parents spent years ignorantly "banning".
Back to the quote above. What's to stop a high school kid from saying that his parents drug test him, even if they don't? If someone doesn't want to do drugs, then nobody is going to make them. It seems to me like this company (and the school) is trying to mask this practice as "good parenting" when in fact it's downright stupid.
Kids need to be educated on drugs (and other sensitive issues), and taught how to take care of themselves, to prepare them for adulthood. The tried-and-failed method of beating fear into the minds of children for 18 years consistently shows only failure, and probably causes more anxiety, irresponsible use, and lack of knowledge than anything else.
When will parents and schools realize that "Because I said so." or "Because I will hurt you if you don't." are neither acceptable, or successful means of education?

From personal experience and the experiences of friends, i can testify that drug testing absolutely destroys parent child relationships.
" The test offers students another way to say no to illegal drugs. It gives them a socially acceptable way to say no when pressured by friends to use drugs be-cause they can say their parents test them, he said. "
okay this is just ridiculous.
Testing your kids proves how little you trust them. I would consider it acceptable if they were tweakin' or something. Bad things happen to people when they get into the wrong things.

Hey As long as they don't test for salvia, the kids will be alright!

Drug testing kids does kind of prepare them for adulthood, I mean, so many employers drug test that kids are gonna need to figure out how to get around drug testing, so by drug testing them now, they will be experts by the time they hit the real world.
Of course, any person who has ever been drug-tested knows that unless the consequences are really grave, that person is not going to stop using(because of the testing)...and even then, they might still use, but will just beat the test.
Those drug testing companies really have a great market...millions of people who have been brainwashed that this is a great way to stop drug use...and people just eat it up...ridiculous.
Also, doesn't drug testing just drive which drugs kids will use...i.e. ones that aren't tested for or only remain in the body for a short period of time? Drug testing tends to only change which drugs are used...and usually weed is the first one to go, which is ridiculous because it is probably the safest...stupid people.

exactly,
I've known so many people that moved on to harder drugs after they were being drug tested for their trespassing conviction, curfew violation, or overactive parents
Who was once smoking pot, now snort stimulants, and do opiates.
When your tested ever week, you know you've got about half the week to do drugs with no worries.

I remember getting tested in high school. Thank god they didn't test for MDMA, and that was by my school.

getting drugs isn't a problem. it's a matter of getting them all in a person's system in a short enough time to test for everything. should be fun.
I got the test today. looks fancy, came with rubber gloves
10 drug screening
- amphetamine check - barbituates check - benzodiazepines check - cocaine check - marijuana check - methadone check - methamphetamine check - morphine check - opiates check - phencyclidine check - tricyclic antidepressants check
this is gonna take some planning
