Deja Vu

Is some crazy shit. I just had a flashback-esque lucid-like parlysis-type type of deja vu that was very intense. Ever been somewhere, done something,or been in a situation you were so sure had already happened somewhere but couldn't put your finger on it? Ever dreamt something only to have it come true the next day or weeks, months, maybe ever years later?

yes to both
I've had maybe 3 prophetic dreams(they have a certain realistic feel to them that I've gotten kinda used too at this point) one of the dreams I Just knew was gonna come true and I can remember walking to my friends place wondering if this was the day it was going to happen
it didn't happen that day but it did happen like a week later or something
and yes I've had typical deja vu where your experiencing a moment in time which you feel as tho you've already experienced and can almost sense whats to happen next

Simple explanation.
Deja Vu is simply the result of a persons dominant eye becoming overly dominant and processing things faster than your other eye. The information gets processed from 1 eye before the other. When the other eye sends the same info, you feel as tho you've already experienced this or you feel like you've "been here before" or "dreamt this".
As far as the way it makes you feel, its defiantly unique and sometimes profound. But I really don't think its anything beyond the scientific explanation.

damnit! 2finite. i've almost been able to put that into words myself. i've read that it has something to do with hemisphere miscommunication, but that explanation makes total sense.

Are you sure? I've had deja vu where I've felt like the experience happened years ago. Maybe even outside of time or physical experience. Deja Vu is too complex and crazy to be explained by something as simple as that.
Do you have a source for that info?

From Wiki
Quote:
Another theory being explored is that of vision. As the theory suggests, one eye may record what is seen fractionally faster than the other, creating that "strong recollection" sensation upon the "same" scene being viewed milliseconds later by the opposite eye. However, this one fails to explain the phenomenon when other sensory inputs are involved, such as the auditive part, and especially the digital part. If one, for instance, experience déjà vu of someone slapping the fingers on his/her left hand, then the déjà vu feeling is certainly not due to his/her right hand to be late on the left one. Also, persons with only one eye still report experiencing déjà vu or déjà vecu. The global phenomenon must therefore be narrowed down to the brain itself (say, one hemisphere would be late compared to the other one).
Theres a lot of theory's out there that try to explain it but this is the one most cited and supported. Not proven tho don't get me wrong. For me anyway the rest of the explanations are kinda out there. I defiantly believe in a lot of paranormal stuff and ET and shit like that I'm not a skeptic but I just feel like Deja Vu is something simple. Thats just me tho, everyone is entitled to a opinion especially with something as open to speculation as this.

Most of psychology is theory, go figure.
I don't think they will ever be able to figure this one out.

I'm defiantly with you on that one man. Theres everything from the vision theory to linking it to schizophrenia and dementia.

haha if only such a shortcut existed.... i believe DMT does bring about a certain "cosmic awareness", but it certainly wouldn't rival becoming one with the universe eternally

i'd be very suprised if anyone becomes one with the universe eternally when they die. any more-so than they are now anyways

i talked bout it in conversation and thats were i found the answer
"It's basically like thinking beyound yourself"
had a dream bout a road, really empty/no cars , but very bright, almost realistic
weeks later crashed my whip on that road(always packed) by over estimating a recovery to avoid a white car
could swear that car was in my dream, but now that i think after the fact it doesnt matter
