Manure contains microbes that are beneficial to the colonization of the substrate by mycelium. Beneficial meaning they do not compete with mycelium and also protect the substrate by feeding on competing bacteria. By keeping the temperature around 170 You are preserving some of the beneficial life while killing some of the harmful things in the manure.

If you are going to grow in the jar or bag you should sterilize the poo not pasteurize it.
Poo has to be pasteurized when mixed in the spawn out in the open, but when grown inside a sterile environment it should be sterilized.

Bullshit? There is no way you prepared [successful] WBS in the oven. Sounds like you need to read more.

oooo thanks for the response fraggin i fell smarter now lol and who ever the other guy is saying "bullshit theres no way you prepared wbs " your right i never did in a oven. you can't it wouldn't work." maybe you should read more". i was saying i had done wbs before pc and spawn them and fruited them in the oven bags not steriize in the oven and that i still had some left over bags from that.

Innoculating with what? Spores or LC.
Spores will work with grains but gives poor results with poo. For poo you should use an LC

That will not work. Your better off spawning your spawn bags WITH spawn.Poo has too many bacteria in it for spores to sustain life.

If you are using bags you sterilize the poo so there are no bacteria prior to innoculating.
Problem is spores give patchy results, but Liquid Culture works great on poo bags.

Don't kill me, but I have had great success on about 3 occasions with using LC on un-pastuerized poo. I never spread this shoddy method to fellow shroomite. It's bad practice.
