It looks suspiciously similar to 28 Days Later. Being an avid Danny Boyle fan, I doubt I'll spend money on I am Legend.

28 Days Later is a knock off of this if anything. The I Am Legend book came out in the 50's

I am Legend was entertaining at the most. it's a hollywood blockbuster, what more did any of you expect? will smith is great in it as always, and his relationship with his dog is quite special

not for the plot to have worked - if the dog lived, he would have had "something to live for" with the dog dead - he could pull the pin on a grenade and blow himself up without flinching.

I think I dislike Will Smith's acting enough to not pay to see that movie. I feel embarrassed when he tries to act outside of a ridiculous stereotype role, and I have to look away.

I like will smith, he's done a lot of great movies IMO. However i didn't like this movie very much, i dunno but the post apocalyptic zombie survival movies are just too similar. I also thought 28 days/weeks later was utter shit as well. I was expecting a lot more from this movie but IMO the CGI sucked, the plot was mediocre at best, and they needed to develop the background story a bit more. I would have liked to see more about how the virus came about to wipe out the world then flashing back to the damn scene at the docks in NYC over and over and over again until they finally killed off his wife and kid (which during the first flashback to that scene it was completely obvious they were going to die).
All in all im glad i didn't pay a dime to see it and that i didn't have to leave my house either.

Read the book, I think you will like the ending a lot better its definately not a "hollywood ending." But you are right, the dog had to die.

FYI, the audio goes out of sync with the movie around 1 hr 10 min. Be prepared for 30 mins of a headache if you use this link. Happened to me last night, i ended up just listening to the audio and didnt pay attention to the movie too much. Great video quality tho.

I just watched it. I liked it. Not spectacular, but it was good.
I'm really out of it, so maybe I'm missing something, but who the hell moved the manequin(george or whatever he called the thing) and set the trap for him?
They didn't put the notion across that those things were smart enough to sneak into a store he frequented, snatch the manequin and prop it up somewhere else in the city with an elaborate trap...so what gives?

I didn't get this feeling - I didn't get many feelings from the movie - BUT I figured Will Smith was just cracking up and stepped into his own trap.
Also Will Smith is not a great actor - hes just better than the idiots they are holding up - You know I watch a lot of foreign films and older movies - Its hard to say Will Smith is a "good actor" when I like American actors like Cagney, Stewart and Grant and those fabulous flicks from the 60's Japanese/Chinese cinema. Yeah, WS just doesn't hold up. OoD

I thought it was alright. Typically I hate those sort of movies and I wasn't really expecting much of it, but I thought it had decent moments. Will Smith is a pretty good actor and was able to carry it. Though I must say I was sadder to see Wilson go in Cast Away than Smith's dog. Oops, spoiler statement.

I had high hopes because the book I Am Legend is one of the greatest "horror" novels ever written. Unfortunately the film took pretty much nothing from the book other than the title and general premise.
Overall, I was pretty damn disappointed. Everyone who didn't like the movie should read the book to see what you are missing.

It was better than I thought it was going to be. There are few actors that can pull off being the only one on screen and I think Will Smith did a pretty good job of that. 28 days later was better though.
