Here's what seems to be longer, different, cut from that episode. It's pretty frustrating to watch. No real discussion, just people screaming and the audience acting like a rowdy mob.

*laugh* I love the face he makes when Paul suggests the government force him to go on a diet. Ever notice how some people... look like the stereotypical cop? It is pretty easy to picture that guy driving the COPS cameras around, eating donuts, talking about the job and how challenging it is to keep the kids in line these days.... yep, it's a hard job, but somebody had to do it.

Yeah, I saw that one too!
And people were worried that his appearance on Glenn Beck would be a hit-piece. I'm pretty sure he won't tell Ron Paul he'd put a cigarette out in his eye. Ron Paul can kick ass when he needs to.

Man did Ron own up on that dude... bahahah

An interesting point is that the host did end up dying from cigerette-related illnesses.
When he was diagnosed w/ lung cancer, however; he apparently added tobacco to the list of drugs that should be prohibited, or at least discouraged. I wonder if he ever saw the hypocrasy, or went to his smoking-related grave believing that he saw the folly of tobacco use, and so noone else should be allowed to use tobacco as he had.
Another note, though, I don't think anyone really came out well in that one. Never seen paul lose it, but he seemed pretty close in the longer cut I posted above. I like how the host claimed prohibition reduced alcoholism.
See: Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morton_Downey_Jr.
, Downey was diagnosed with lung cancer and had one of his lungs removed. He did a complete about-face on tobacco use, going from a one-time member of the National Smokers Alliance to a staunch anti-smoking activist. He continued to speak against smoking until his death from lung cancer in 2001 at age 67.[19] After being diagnosed with lung cancer, he said, "I had spawned a generation of kids to think it was cool to smoke a cigarette. Kids walked up to me until a matter of weeks ago, they'd have a cigarette in their hand and they'd say, 'Hey, Mort,' or, 'Hey, Mouth, autograph my cigarette.' And I'd do it."[3] He also blamed tobacco companies for lying to consumers about cigarettes.[3]
Author Adrian Havill later said that Downey's cancer and subsequent anti-smoking commercials, like other celebrity causes for certain diseases, served as a publicity tool.[20]

Gotta love how the dude opens the show with a cig in his hand and talks about how proposterous drug legalization is.

LOL.. look how he's that one dude with the shades is
BTW If you guys remember the 80;s.. it was about how trashy you could possibly make your talk show: Oprah then was the way Jerry Springer is now. Geraldo had his thing going.
God.. the late 80's these was the hayday of awesome tv programming :P
It actually gives me some hope seeing this. The language and attitudes of the people in the audience woulnd't stand a chance on any show nowadays, even fox news. Hell.. we have Bill 'Reilly saying he supports medical marijuana.
Times are a changing. And it's videos like this that make me realize how we a people as Americans are becoming education little bits at a time. We may actually have some hope as a society

We've had about twice the the time involved in a serious drug war since the airing of that show. I'd hope some minds would be changing.
That said, a show like that can't possibly show a balanced picture. It was moderated in such a way (wasn't) that neither side got much chance to make any points.
And the host was a discrace, yelling, physically intimidating Paul and the other guests. What a loon.
And he says paul would be snorting coke in the white house? I don't think paul has ever admitted to using prohibited drugs, and he seems to be in good standing w/ the texas medical board, so I would think not.

Great reflection; I felt the same.
This morning, on Fox News, they were interviewing Ron Paul and reporting on his record campaign donations. First, the host wanted to ask Ron Paul what he thought about Huckabee's Christmas ad, wherein it had a windowpane in the background that was displayed in a way that it looked like a cross.
Ron Paul stated that he hasn't thought completely about the subject, but that it reminded him of something some Lewis dude said, "fascism will come to this country wrapped around the flag and carrying the cross". The host had to say that he didn't think Huckabee was being fascist, just trying to wish everyone a good Christmas.
He's still got it.

Here's the FOX interview...
Can you sum up the history of the united states' foreign policy in one word, Mr. Paul?

It's a trick question.
He's supposed to answer no.
But I'm high.
I can't find where he calls someone over wieght. Is that in the video? is it a bad thing?
