OK, made a post over in contam forum, turned out to be bruising. They informed me that my cakes are dry, and need to be dunked again. Do I try brushing the verm off, or leave it on for the dunk? Does it even really matter?
I have a layer of perlite in there, but apparently that wasn't enough. I guess I'll try misting the cakes from the onset, and hopefully not get the same results this time around. Is it ok to spray them directly? I thought no, but Tahoe corrected me in my other post(love the avatar, btw).

The verm is gonna come off when you dunk them any way, so might as well just rinse it off first hand. Then put them in a pot of water, and put a plate on top to weight them down and keep them submerged, come back 12 hours later. Roll again, then back into the chamber. Perlite in chamber should already be wet according to RR's youtube vid (6-sided shotgun tek), then just mist every couple of days to keep humidity up.

After you roll your cakes in verm and it was been in the fruiting chamber for a few houes, mist the verm to moisten it.
The verm acts like a casing providing moisture at the surface of the cakes, its no use dry so keep it moist.
