If I don't get a B in Spanish I will go fucking ballistic. I kick myself in the ass every single day for not taking this shit back in high school.

I graduated yesterday, but I have a Physics final today, a Volcanology final tomorrow, and an O-Chem final on Wednsday.

Volcanology? Did you just take that for fun? Sounds cool. My grades are almost done. Two more papers to write.

Very nice. What made you choose geology? I have no idea what I want to do, but I still have 3.5 years of undergrad left.

I could give you a 10-page diatribe on why I think Geology is by far the best scientific field you can study, but it would make me sound like a zealot.
Suffice to say that geology makes use of every single other discipline under the sun. Professional geologists are also professional biologists, botanists, climate scientists, mathematicians, physicists, astronomers, and chemists.
Geology is constantly evolving, there are tons of new and exciting things to study, and jobs are plentiful and well-paying.
No matter what you like to do, you can find a field in geology that will let you pursue those interests. If you like traipsing through the woods in your hiking boots, geology is one of the few fields that still involve long days out in the field playing in the mud.
If you like working in the lab and peering in microscopes, you can be a petrologist and wear a lab coat and deduce the origins and fate of the planet.
If you like computers, you can be a GIS worker and help to develop the complex programs that we use to model past and future events and get a glimpse into the complexity of geologic process' underground.
I am 100% convinced that geology is the coolest science in the world.

I'm taking a bit of time off.
I've been in school non-stop for the last 19 years of my life, so I'd like to take awhile off and smell the roses.
I'd like to travel quite a bit w/in the next year or so, and I'm leery of getting a serious job before I do that.
So...
Things are up in the air right now.
I'm waiting until after the New Year before I make any concrete decisions.

Well, damn. I'm not sure that I was expecting that response. Geology sounds very intriguing. My papers are on Descartes, so I don't you would be of any use. Good luck.

phsyics fucking sucks! .... I was flunking physics one and was praying for a C in the class..... The third and final exams, everything clicked and I came out with a B.
It actually isn't toooo bad now, but physics two next semester is a different beast from what I hear.
Organic chem is nice.. I feel like I wasted my life in gen chem 1 and 2.

first semester where i didn't have to worry about grades, i could have failed all of my finals and still walked away with a B. It's nice coming home knowing you've secured a 3.0 for the semester, makes it easier to enjoy your vacation (even though i have a ton of bills and debt to worry about).

Good deal.
How is Physics 2 only 2 credits!?
Or is that just a lab, or something?

Where were all you scientists and math majors while I was getting a D in calculus? Stupid professor didn't teach a goddamn thing...

Haha, funny that you noticed that. That is mathematical methods II, not regular E&M Physics II. It covers many undergrad mathematics (lots of PDEs and special functions). It was the hardest class of all of those.
The reason it is only 2 credits is that the university caps how many required credits a major can have. Translation: Cut random credits off of hard classes to meet the cap.
But they made it up to us by offering the 1 credit class to supplement.

Does your school do the quality points thing to figure GPA, i.e. if you get an A in a 4 credit class is it worth more than an A in a 3 credit class? Because if my school does weight grades like that, having them shave off credits would piss me off in a big way.
