i found a place, with great deals on cactus, and ordered two pedro cuttings ( lol they had a 2 limit) i checked google before i left for work today, to see if any of the other varieties they carried where active. but unless i didnt phrase the search right, i kept coming up with peyote, san pedro, and torches, really not many others. i know there are at least a few others that are active, so could someone knowledgable in cactus, let me know if any of these others are active? cactus specialties thanks for any help, as i am trying to build a great entheogen garden, and would like to have as many active cactus's i can find

Many of the cacti in the Trichocerus family contains mescaline. Go to Erowid and look up cacti, they have a pretty complete list of what you're looking for.

If you're just looking for cactus that "will hook you up" then pedro and torches are the best (aside from illegal peyote). If you like the gardening for a hobby though then there are several others that contain mescaline but the percentages aren't like those of pedro and torches.

well, i have a 3 year old torch, just ordered 250 torch seeds, and the 2 pedro cuttings from this place. i am just looking for a nice collection of active species, the amount of mesc & other alkloids isnt a big concern, but i do want them to be at least somewhat active

Trichocereus werdermannianus (Over 25 mg/100g fresh)
Trichocereus bridgesii (Over 25 mg/100g fresh)
Trichocereus terschecki ((5 mg to 25 mg)/100g fresh)

are good ones to start with....
They all have simular mescaline content to T.Pachanoi & T.Peruvianus

Tr. scopulicolus is another one which is equipotent with pachanoi, peruvianus, bridgesii etc...

Seriously, there are probably heaps of them, aside from the ones erowid mentions. Morphological similarities to the known active species is obviously the best clue but I bet most of the columnar Trich's contain atleast some mescaline...
