Do any of you use Linux? I've installed openSUSE as a dual boot system on my laptop with Vista Home Premium as the other system. I can't figure out how to do a friggan thing with it yet, but I bought a book to help? Also, as far as security goes, do any of you use encryption for emails like PGP, or whole disk encryption software?

Use Debian, it gives the option to do full disk encryption when you install. It asks for the pass phrase when it boots up.
Also, updates are very easy.

I've tried both Ubuntu and Mandriva in the last couple days. They are both slick as hell, (mandriva has more of a windows feel).
Only problem is I can't get wireless to work on either of those OS's. Oh AND the Wine Emulator thing is too glitchy to rely on it for running windows apps. I may have to go back to windows. But THIS TIME it's XP or bust. Vista drives me into a rage.

If your wireless isn't working, is it broadcom based? If it is you need your windows driver, from there snag the .sys and .inf file and laod them in ndiswrapper. You gotta build ndiswrapper from source, but if you apt-get build-essential it will build no problem =).

Thats saying that you dont find the device, the kubuntu/ubuntu wireless managers work well, thankfully.

The only operating system that is still secure these days is a Linux system. Even then I've heard rumors that it's been cracked.
